Found the biggest slag I have ever had

And in good shape... is that a pontil or a cut crease

That’s a nice MFC, that cut line is indicative of MFC slags. It’s where the cutting shears cut the marble when it was still pretty molten.

I just love these big MFC slags and can never see enough of them---they do come bigger. What size is yours?

I sold a big one years ago and have regretted it ever since.

Great find!!! These are rare--hold on to it, or regret it IMHO.

Not a pontil, likely MFC, and most of the big ones top out around 1-1/4".  There are some way bigger ones but not seen too often.

That one is a inch and 3/8 the only way I will give it up is to one of my grandkids.....I never say no to dogs or grandkids

Got some red ones also.... one looks like a cool cork but it has a pontil ... so it’s probably a transition
