akroorka
Hello all, Here is another rescued box by yours truly. I found it empty and it is close to mint. It is 3 ¼” wide x 4” long x 1 ¼’ deep. It seems quite deep and I am wondering if the original marbles were shooters, or if it was just packed with regulars. If I remember right, these may have been packed with Ravenswood marbles at some time, maybe some others as well. Please tell me what you may know, size wise, number wise, style wise and I will bring this one back to life. I love this stuff!!! Marble—On!!
wvrons
Those were packaged with Ravenswood marbles. They are super easy to find and mint new. In the late 1980's a big find of these boxes new and unused was found in a warehouse. I mean thousands of them brand new, flat and never used. There are originals filled and were sold with Ravenswood marbles. Buddy was the name used by the company for Ravenswood Novelty Marbles. There is also another similar box but it is thinner and it does not say Buddy. It just has MARBLES on it. It also was packed with Ravenswood marbles. The thin one is almost always found with actual Ravenswood marbles in them. But the Buddy thicker larger one usually has been backfilled with newer marbles. I have seen them with Marble Kings and all kinds of assortments. These were filled by people who bought the new never used empty Buddy boxes. Both boxes are in the orange Ravenswood Novelty sales brochure. The boy on the left with the plaid shirt is Chuck Cox son of the last Ravenswood Novelty Co. owner Paul Cox. The boy on the right is his first cousin Lee Hudkins who is related to the original owner of Ravenswoodf Novelty, Charles Turnbull. Lee Hudkins mother was the sister of Charles Turnbull.
