Mothra
Okay so spent some time today going through the mayonnaise jar of marbles. Here is what they look like sorted. I went through and tried to pick ones I thought might be interesting. Please note I know nothing about marbles and am trying to learn. So maybe I didn’t pick the best ones out. If you see one in the bunch I should have picked but didn’t feel free to let me know. Hopefully through my learning these photos can help others. At least that’s what I’m saying because it was a lot of work! Lol So here I go….. Any help with ID-ing would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to those who have helped me so far! I compiled everything here to hopeful make it easier. Please note the pictures are a compilation of one marble at different angles to help with ID-ing. I have tried to put info with each marble picture, Please correct me if I’m wrong. Some are still Unknown….. Thank you! 1.. 2. 3. 4.
Steph
1. I'm leaning Christensen Agate (CAC) here. 2. The one clear seam that you are showing makes me think Master here. #3 and 4 are swirls which I generally leave to others. There were many West Virginia companies which made swirls, and a couple of U.S. companies in other states. Alley Agate was one of the most prolific of the West Virginia swirl companies. #4 could be an Alley.
akroorka
I worked on #3 with my editor. I think that you may have a Purple slag there. Backlight it and show it again. #4??? Marble--On!!
