Totally. My guess is the bottom is definitely newer than the stopper, but I doubt either pieces is newer than 1975 or so. Thanks for asking about the dauber, I wouldn't have thought about that. Do most of your wife's have the dauber intact?

She rarely buys pieces with broken daubers, unless they are very rare or cheap.

Yea it's a bummer that its broken, but I picked it up for 25 cents or something absurd, so it's still a score in my book 🤷‍♀️

Daily dose of glow!

Photo #1 is regular lighting. Photo #2 is with a regular flashlight inside. Photo #3 is blacklight flashlight inside. Another example of Ivory glass made from a little vaseline ylw added to awhite base (which IMO looks like vitrock). Anchor Hocking 9" vase.

Are these manganese or uranium?  Can I see some regular pics without the black light?

A bit more complicated than that. Please see Bill Lockhart’s article explaining the process in relation to the color purple:  https://sha.org/bottle/pdffiles/TheColorPurpleLockhart2006.pdf

Bill has created the online "ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MANUFACTURERS MARKS ON GLASS CONTAINERS”

for the purpose of bottle dating and dating of archaeological dig sites.

FWIW, I wrote a chapter for Bill’s Encyclopedia detailing how West Virginia glass house bottle marks  could be used to date bottles … and marbles found in the same places.

Also, please see the following url: https://sha.org/bottle/colors.htm
