Ric
Those are toy tops and the cups to spin them in made by Andy Davis (RIP) He made them by melting cullet or marbles from all kinds of different sources including many of the JABO investors runs. The one with multiple dimples is used as a marble stand. Usually he made them specially for a particular run so the stand and the marbles matched,

Yes, of course you can spin them on any solid surface but that is what the cups are made for.

Ric
When my son Jake was young and attended marble shows with me, Andy would always pull a top out of his pocket and give it to him. I'm sure he did the same for many children. He also made marbles. Here he is with some of his work.

Ric
@Mojo Of course, Andy Davis made the 2" marble and the stand that I posted. They were made with glass from the West Virginia Marble Collectors Club Run (April 2011), which is where the 3/4" marbles on the stand come from.
TNG
Never seen a WVMCC Davis set. That's really neat @Ric
Ric
Just now, TNG said: Never seen a WVMCC Davis set. That's really neat @Ric If I remember right, I won it in 2011 at the auction which used to be held during the WVMCC Show to benefit the Club - I think Dave McCullough may have donated it to the auction. @wvrons might be able to correct me if I am wrong - his memory seems to be working better than mine lately. 😄
wvrons
You have it correct. The tag is for WVMCC and donated by Dave McCullough. Those are getting up there in price now. Especially these with the 3/4 marbles around the base. The 3/4 marbles are usually missing.
