The Nickel Guy
These Red and Yellow Corkscrews are clearly different. Four of one type with a transparent red snake over an opaque yellow base (notice the red bleeding into the yellow on the one) and two with a more opaque or perhaps somewhat translucent red snake. I see many other marble companies used this color combination or close to it anyway. I wondered where the nickname Ketchup and Mustard came from and does that nickname apply here to either of these. Heck, I hope these are AKRO? Marbles are sooooooooooo confusing!
The Nickel Guy
Here is one marble, my only one like this, that has a transparent red snake corkscrew over a green opaque base. (Two views) On some of these images you will see the reflection of my TV or the window over it on the surface. Sorry, it looks almost like damage.
The Nickel Guy
These three are single examples I have. They are only 1/2 inch or smaller. I guess 2 of them at least qualify as "pee wees"
The Nickel Guy
Yes, this is another stand out in the crowd, a little played with I suppose but still nice enough for me. I always wanted it to be Oxblood but I don't think it is. My only one like this.
The Nickel Guy
Almost done with my contributions but I saved my best for last. I think that these are Popeyes Two Akro Agate Purple and Yellow POPEYE Corkscrew Marbles and One Akro Agate Blue and Yellow POPEYE Corkscrew Marble. Definitely in the top 25 of my very favorite marbles. 1
The Nickel Guy
Now these get a bit complicated. My eyes are wiggin out by now. I think there are some "Popeye Corkscrews" in this group but not sure. So in these pictures are 8 summer marbles. Summer here in one image and summer there in the other picture but there are a total of 8 more at the end of my parade. I think there are three of the same in this photo and here there are the other 5 and the last 5 marbles shown here show 5 out of the 8 mixed in together? I'm out of these corkscrews but please continue posting yours if you like. Thanks for letting me share mine. 2
akroorka
2 hours ago, The Nickel Guy said: Thanks for letting me share mine. Share all that you desire--no one gets bored looking at marbles here. "Popeyes" all have a clear transparent base glass. Some may argue that there is a nifty looking one with UV reactive yellow base glass(very cool)! Your last image may have a "Popeye" near the bottom--blue and yellow. Marble--On!! Here are a few of my favorite white base corkscrews. This olive drab color commonly shows flecks of AV. Marble--On!! 2 1
