If you're using your cellphone camera and have white in your background, your camera is overcompensating for the white background, making the entire photo dark. Alan Posted Wednesday at 02:07 PM Report Share Posted Wednesday at 02:07 PM Sunlight is often better. Make sure you are manually selecting focus on the marble itself - which also determines exposure. Artificial lights have their own varying color temperatures. I think my phone handles the wb fairly good with a mixed grey card. I do shoot with a dslr as a hobby well did untill my health got in the way. macro pictures the pinhole lenses on phone are perfect for this type of photography and easy to load online.
