Ric
I'm pretty sure this 31/32" is Vacor/Mega and I'm wondering if this type has a name. Thanks!

Hey Ric--great images! I would not call this one a Vacor. An Imperial is my call--a nice one but it could have come from a wide variety of countries and makers. Even the Imperials have some great ones to consider. @Mojo and @Melissa may have an opinion here. @shiroaiko and @YasudaCollector might chime in as well. I just love this stuff! Marble--On!!

Thanks for the thoughts, Art. The orange peel on this one is really pronounced. I did not think that was common on Imperials but I have not had many big ones in hand.

It's nice to have someone who knows them far better than I corroborate my thinking. Thanks a bunch, Joep!

shiroaiko
I agree with Mojo anf Ric. Mine measures 25 mm, and it is with a distinct orange peel texture too. Yellow is almost disappearing. This is an English lot it belongs to. I wonder who made these two. The orange peel texture can be felt for them too, although the feel is subtle.

I would guess they are from somewhere closer to you than to me. 🙂
YasudaCollector
Ooh! Thanks for posting this guys! 😃 I have a whole bunch that look exactly like the ones in @Mojo's picture. I could never quite figure out what they were.
shiroaiko
@Ric Yes. Your observation is right, the seams are different. Yesterday I asked another marble peer the same question, and he also answered that would be Asian made. They are probably Taiwanese! 😃✨

Also, the two marbles in question appear considerably more refined than the examples you show. Based on just these comparisons I would not rule out other possibilities. They certainly could be from a different era but I think they could be from a different producer too.

This is very cool! It's reminiscent of a Vitro Jewel Tray. I've never seen anything quite like it. What exactly is it? And I was not meaning to sound harsh, I'm just big on original packaging in general and especially for verifying the identification of marbles from producers I don't have examples of or know much about myself. It's me, it's not you. 🙂

I think that the box is 1954 or so from the Korean War---cigarettes--probably Korean made as well as the marbles. Yep—Korea made marbles—still do. Check out the Imperial marble boxes. You will find it there. Marble—On!!
