SequoiaBET
My only orange one. Is that a turkey head in pic 1? With a long tail. It's 41/64 (.64) inches with UV in the some of the white glass- especially when it is sub-surface.
SequoiaBET
Bumping this back to the top- can anyone confirm the ID for me? Thanks!
akroorka
I do not blame anyone for backing off on this one. It is an extremely weird marble. The indents or smooth little round marks that drop towards the middle are just weird to me. I have seen them before but not so many in one marble. Image one shows what I believe is Opal white glass. This one is a WVS of some make imho. Marble--On!!
Fire1981
The 2 Tail Whips has me on the slag wagon. Since MFC didn’t make red slag I think this is an Akro with a few molten pin pricks🔥 RAR
SequoiaBET
Thanks for the feedback folks! I didn't realize it was a tougher ID. In hand, the color reads orange and it looks like a slag to me, but I am not the best at telling where a slag ends and a WVS starts. Also, the UV is really weird- when the white is on the surface, no UV. In the area with the deepest and clearest base glass, no UV. When the white is just subsurface to the base glass- it clearly glows orange. I've never seen that before. Thanks again. And if others have any thoughts- please share! That was in 2012. Have opinions/knowledge on that changed?
SequoiaBET Posted yesterday at 03:06 AM Author Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:06 AM I'm not try to contradict you Fire, so please don't take that the wrong way. I know there are many unknowns, changing knowledge, and varying opinions on many things marble. I'm just trying to learn. 🙂
Fire1981 Posted yesterday at 03:40 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:40 AM There was a dig at the MFC site and no red cullet was found. Block doesn’t have his facts straight. I don’t think there’s a Member here who thinks MFC made red/orange slags. I consider this to be a fact that they didn’t make them. I by no means am taking your response in a negative way. I have no idea why they didn’t make them. Maybe someone here knows why. Maybe it was a money thing🔥 RAR
