Steph, I think those boxes are called "stained glass boxes". We have some with akro marbles in them. We put the marbles in. I've been told they are Peltier Jobber boxes. Someone here will know for sure. Edna

The book mentioned by Galen is very good, the best one on history of the companies. There are lots of others if you can afford several. There is a paperback on catseyes, can't locate mine at the moment to give you the name. Paul Baumann has one called Collecting Antique Marbles. Another I like is Collecting Early Machine-made Marbles, The M. F. Christensen & Son Company and Christensen Agate Company by Block. Just depends on what you want to collect or what you want to learn. Edna

You got a good deal, by the way. LOL My first one cost me $.50. That little bitty decimal point doesn't show up very well. I paid 50 cents for the first beach ball. Didn't know what it was. I kept it because the blue patch has the shape of Texas. Edna

Pretty hard to find. My first one was found at a marble show in the mid 90's. I bought the last four from Calvin Griffith at a Texas Show last year. Expect to pay $40 to $60 dollars if the owner knows what they are. Edna

Patry had suffered from MS for a very long time. I just didn't realize how far it had progressed. I always looked forward to her posts. She was more knowledtgeable about marbles than anyone I ever met. I often joked that Patry had one of every marble ever made. I really believe she did. Our prayers go out to her family.
