I love the input about this mib, but I am a gambler, and according to the odds, the mib this guy told me about is probably not the mib I saw in a photo, that doesn't mean an old mib was tampered or a new one was made to look old. All i know is I kinda want one just to have a great conversation piece to discuss. ps if there's anymore photos out there of something similar, please post! I love talkin' mibs

I take it back, I was just shown a photo of german swirl with a sulphide inside... They really do exist, just like santa and the M&M's !!

Has anyone ever seen a sulphide marble with surface ribbons around the outside of the mib? I've never seen one, but someone told me about a collector he knew that came across one at a yard sale, and picked it up for $0.50. If someone knows of one or has a photo i'd love to see it!

sort of... another name for a target marble is a commie.... "Common Marble" I call all marbles mibs, because mibster is a name for a marble player, and he/she plays with all marbles if that makes sense?

I'm wondering if it backlighting was part of the idea when layering these onionskins? Think about it, If you had a yellow based onion with a red core, when backlit it would be orange... wouldn't it? I only ask this because I find out more about my mibs when I back light them sometimes.

I found a quote in "Collecting Antique Marbles: ID and Price Guide" Page 126 "The 1926 hiring of Henry Helmer, a glass chemist, provided a much wider and brighter array of colors (Castle ad Peterson, 1995). These changes at Akro paved the way for the first of the truly machine-made marbles like the spirals or "corkscrews" and for marbles of three or more colors." That quote leads me to thing it could have been Henry Helmer? earlier on this page, it lists Clinton Israel to be the co-worker responsible for improving the feeders along with John Early. Hope that helps, but that's what I've found out so far.

They look like the newer patter of MK marbles, they have the colors of Wasp and Tiger, so i'm not sure what they would be called.
