Pretty sure that page is Bill Kirk's brainchild. Don't wanna take credit for it. I posted a response to one of his pix just to show appreciation. Haven't contributed anything else . . . yet.

But funny thing - I just met another marble collector through facebook. A friend of my husband's from his hometown. Just chatting and marbles came up. So I sent her that link. . . . and one to our recent stone marble thread here. She likes mineral spheres. :-)

I understand your reluctance to post the pix Sue, but I really appreciate them. Pretty big difference , , , "obvious" , , , now that you point it out!

By the way, a question about this auction was posted at GA. I invoked your name as someone who could tell 'em more than I was able to. I guess I could just post a link over to here. But I've already posted forty eleven times in that thread so I'll leave it to you to comment if you choose.

I was intrigued by what looked as if it might be an authentic sort of wear. However, reliable sources say fake. Made by that same guy in Lauscha whom JVV mentioned in the recent fake china thread.

I just noticed Gene's Akro Superman in the prize pot. I need that one! I was thinking about deferring if I won, since I already won one of Carole's marbles in an earlier contest. Share the wealth, you know. But I NEED a Superman.
