It almost looks like tin foil inside the marble

I don't know about this one. I was at a glass store and bought some jars of marbles. He could have made this one himself, but I thought I would get some input. Measures about 5/8" and looks to have either some gunk on it like it may have been glued to something. I know the pictures are terrible, but the silver wasn't showing up well in the pics. The one pic is with the light off only, no blacklight.

I messaged him a question about this item and he told me it was his fathers, who was in the boy scouts, and that the marbles were authenticated by a local antique dealer. I think the biggest thing that makes it seem fake to me is that there is no info anywhere on the net about this item. If it was a giveaway at the jamboree, there would have been ~30000 of these boxes would have been made, and surely at least one other one would have been documented some time in the last 75+ years.

I like it. A lemon drop would be good too, cause it kinda looks like the candy
-
Also, they created an emblem for they junilee, which from what I read was widely used for memorabilia from this event. It does not look like the one on the box.
-
Maybe they got confused when someone was taking about an akro boy scout marble and put this together?
-
There is no mention anywhere in Google search results indicating that this was ever a giveaway at the jamboree. 1937 was the first year of the jamboree, but the only non-boy scout related memorabilia I could see was a coca cola ad. I think if thus was a giveaway, at least one other one would have been on the market recently enough for Google to index it

The more I feel it, the texture is a little bit like a brick style marble
-
You could say worn. It measures 5/8" one way and 9/16" the other because the one end (pic 2) is kinda flat
-
It doesn't seem damaged, I think the shaping is because it might be hand made, but I am certainly thinking that it may not be a marble
-
I don't, but I might have to get one now lol
-
It feels a bit waxy to the touch, but definitely isn't wax.

There were 3 of those oxbloods. I believe they are limeades, but I'm not 100%.

It's in the jar on the left

So I got these 3 jars of marbles today for $50, mostly because of one marble I saw in the bunch. Do you see which one? More pics to come......

In doing a little more looking, could it be a master marble sunburst? It does look to have a little clear patch on one pole

Do People Buy Grab Bags Of Random Older Marbles?

I am not in a hurry to sell them, and I would definitely sell them in a way where the buyer would be able to see the marbles they would be buying. I really just want to know if it is worth it to put together a few lots of 25-50 marbles each week. -
Thanks, that was very well put. I actually think this one is going in the keep pile, which is why I was so curious to see what it was.

Do People Buy Grab Bags Of Random Older Marbles?
sclsu posted a topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
I am working through a collection I bought and I am wondering if it is a good idea to sell some of them in unsearched grab bags? What is a good number to put in a bag? Any feedback is appreciated. Also I apologize if this is the wrong place for this.
