  1. I also find some very tall dunes near Bordeaux, the Pilat Dunes! These dunes are over 100 meters tall so i can make a really long sand marble race when the weather and number of tourists are good. But i suddenly need help when i will want to create a long track like this. If done correctly, the race will be almost twice as long as my currently longest one.
  2. Now i started the hunt on 100,000 subs on my YT channel! I'm thinking to arrange a 100,000 marbles project but i'm not sure, hopefully i get an invitation or comission to do a track like this. My other options is to do: - A very long marble race which lasts over 20 minutes - To make a Marble Machine like Marble City or Ben Tardiff's Marble Mountain - To beat the guinness record longest marble run What do you prefer for me?
  3. Here's a timelapse video of the construction phase of the marble run at the Eden Project near St. Austell (UK):
  4. I've visited the House of Marbles in Bovey Tracey (near Newton Abbot, UK) on my way to the Eden Project: It has lots of marbles and also some nice Rolling Ball Sculptures and a box with lots of marble which gives me the opportunity to take a marble bath!
  5. It looks like, but pity that it's only flat without inclination. But it gives me inspiration for future races!
  6. Thanks! But the site isn't working... (i get an blank page)
  7. I also have a 3D printed marble machine, i have the blue one with the gear (in the 3rd post) and then modified it and added my own mazes.
  8. Here's a new sand Marble Race with 5 bouncy balls! The regular marbles won't roll as well in the very dry sand. I will return there to make a new one.
  9. Nice race! But if you want more views and subscribers, you'll need to build your own marble race course instead of using simple toys. Another way is to combine multiple sets of the same marble run toy. Some extra light is also better (the video is somewhat dark).
  10. The best way is to make the hole slightly larger than the ball diameter to prevent jamming.
  11. I know this video which is very awesome! I really note that in the last few months, there are lots of marbles and marble run videos become viral (think about Wintergatan music marble machine and Ben Tardiff's Marble Mountain and my own sand marble races). I'm curious how popular would building marble runs and similar contraptions will be in the coming months.
  12. When the balls has too much velocity, you must add a fence or rim along the edge of the bowl to avoid balls fly off.
  13. Using hotwheels tracks can be great, the tracks are wide enough that marbles can overtake each other.
  14. I received good reception about this review, so i'm planning to do more reviews like this in the future. Which marble run system should i review the next time?
  15. A fact is that steel balls will spin longer in bows than glass marbles. However, glass marbles can have nice colors, but their roundness is not always perfect. In my marble runs, i also note the irregular roundness of marbles by adding more (or higher) rims and a better slope. However, lightweight switches (made from MDF or light wood, or iron wire) will work quite good with glass marbles.
  16. I also had a similar marble run toy while i'm young! But i use now longer and more complex tracks.
  17. Here's a review of a Marble Machine kit from http://www.marblemachine.org
  18. OK, thanks! At moment of writing this message i have 69,750 subscribers, so 30,250 to go... Enough time to prepare (but a viral video can disturb my planning...)
  19. Now it's get way better with my channel, now nearly 70K subs, but the competition is still heavy. I'm now planning to get 100,000 marbles to make a huge track when i reach 100K subs.
  20. Hello, Welcome to this forum again! One tip: I will make a Marble Run at the Eden Project (near Par, Cornwall), it's a little far from Kent, but drivable in one day to meet me in person with a huge marble run. The event is on 28 and 29 may 2016. When travelling there, you can also visit the House of Marbles which lies in your path. Greets, Jelle
