The base is an opaque white. I think the lighting in original photos may have caused some of the colors to look blue. In the sunlight though all look dark brown with a hint of maroon. The ribbons appear opaque but it's certainly possible they are a dark transparent glass. I tried backlighting the marble and no light passes through. Like Steph I suspect that it's foreign but all of the seams and cut lines have peaked my curiosity. Many thanks to you both!

Great information guys. Looks like I have a nice lot of German marbles. Thanks to you all! I've learned a lot!

Thanks Chuck.

Thanks for the reply Chad. The photos are very helpful. The submarines are absolutely gorgeous! Ron, if they awarded Ph.D's for marble identification we would all have to refer to you as Dr. Shepard! Thanks for sharing. I've learned a lot from your posts. Al, thank you too! I see you out here quite frequently and I've learned a lot from you as well. Here are 2 more from the same lot. The seams on the blue are a bit different than the others and almost all of the white is beneath the surface. I'm hoping that the other one is a peach slag??

Thanks Ric. It's been a while since I've found anything decent and I've never found so many good marbles in the same lot. Can't wait to get back out there next weekend!

I bought a bag of marbles this weekend and much to my surprise there were several CAC's. I've been reading up and studying photos and I thought I had mostly striped transparents but now I'm not so sure. Before I found these I could count my CAC's on one hand so I haven't seen many live ones before. As always your thoughts and opinions are appreciated! Thanks!

I have it with the Pelts and I'm wondering if it has a name. The base isn't luminescent but when backlit it really lights up. Measures 5/8. Thanks in advance!

I was thinking CAC but every time I guess Christensen I'm usually wrong... Thanks!

It's an unusual base color for sure. Thanks for the help y'all and stay sefe!

Hello Steph. Miller swirl maybe? I've seen so few older pelts I don't much basis for comparison.

27/32 with an off-white base and candy apple red ribbons. I've seen Arkos with similar colors. Cork gone wrong??

Thanks guys.

Looks like an Akro Agate lemonade patch to me.

Thanks for everyone's help so far. Any thoughts about the remaining ones? I've been doing some more studying and I think the first one is Champion. I found both Champion and Ravenswood examples that are very similar but the quality of the glass has me leaning Champion. The second one I'm leaning Alley but I can't tell you why. The forth one I'm thinking Alley or Heaton. The pattern is busy on one side and sparse on the other. The last 2 I'm leaning Ravenswood but I wonder if I'm being unduly influenced by the size?

Yep, it sure does! None of the others do though. Thanks Steph! Thanks to you too chocobogreesn. I googled Christensen layered sand and now I have an idea what they look like. Thanks again!

All of great swirl posts lately and Stephen B's Ravenswood videos have inspired me to continue my swirl education! Here are a few of the more interesting ones I found this weekend. Most measure 5/8" but the last 2 are 9/16". Do any of these have special names?

Thanks guys! It's a beautiful marble for sure. I still struggle with swirls. The variety of color combinations can be overwhelming. The Alley threads here show some amazing examples and have given me a deeper appreciation for West Virginia Swirls! Thanks again guys!

Thanks guys! What about the one in the middle? Alley?
