Referencing Tommy's post from the 26th regarding that green stringy marble, I made a comment before the actual ID of that marble was being tossed around that I was going to check out the cats eyes I have accumulated out of curiosity. I do know that cats eyes are super common and not on many peoples radar for collectible purposes. But as I was digging through them, I came across one that stood out too me. Unlike any of the other ones I ended up accumulating, the same color meets on both sides. All 3 colors do this. And the veins are very straight. I decided to look into it and this particular variety is called a "crossthrough". The one I saw featured on a book cover was green, yellow and red called the "Beach Ball". The one I have is red, white and blue. Clear glass. There was mention that these crossthroughs were scarce? Wasn't sure if it meant just the Beach Ball variety, or any crossthrough. Wondering if someone could offer some clarity on this? Thanks!

Thanks alot, you too. Kids left just a while ago so were winding down 😊

Happy Easter! That's some good stuff, good read. I work with molds and presses daily so love the "how it's made" aspect of production.

I was actually thinking peltier from what little I have learned thus far. Cool, glad it's a keeper 😊 Thanks for the nod, I'm going to make one more post then call it a night. Happy Easter!

Interesting history too me! Your a wealth of knowledge in my opinion, Ron and am ever so happy pay attention too experience. You too, Steph, and too others that take the time too offer their opinions, advice or knowledge, especially when they know more than I. It shouldn't be offensive to anyone, novice or pro, when knowledge is shared. There's almost always something to learn from someone or somewhere. Community members value each other's opinions, thoughts, experiences, etc. while working together for the greater good of the hobby, not get irritated or offended by them. If someone is that thin skinned, then that saddens me. Personally, from a longtime collectors viewpoint, I'm loving it and my new hobby. Truly appreciate all you say and share, folks. Happy Easter 🐇

I put all 3 on light, the marble at the top of the pic looks purplish while the other two pretty similar. Thanks all!

The purple geode was picked up years ago by my fiance in Mexico. It was bigger, twice as big, but a child dropped it and broke it in half. She ended up giving half too her so she wouldn't cry!

The animals that I think are Mexican are the burro, dog, elephant and horse. The turtle, dove, and two smaller birds are crafted from agate

The first 3 pics are about the size of my fist. The big purple one probably about softball size. The turtle is 5 inches long. The burro, elephant, scottie dog and dove fit in the palm of my hand and the horse and two birds are a little over an inch.

Here are a few of my geode specimens along with my little pet family...also added a shot of a color treated agate slab I bought for my lady on Valentine's day 😊

Picked up what was as an Aventurine marble from a rock and fossil display yesterday. Thought it was a cool piece...

Two marbles that needed a closer look...green one is 3/8 and the other is 7/8. Like the larger one with its multi-browns and touch of lavender.

Nice! I'll have to take a few pics of some geodes I have around the house 😊
-
I'll have too get a few more pics of that one then. It is interesting looking in hand.

Thanks for checking in on these, Steph! I'll get that last one out tommorow morning sometime and snap a few more views 😊

I've got two saws, belts, various hand held tools and a nice little tumbler. Plan on shaping them somewhat, removing some of the rough, then tumbling. I've got trays of uncut pieces that I know are going to be beautiful when I open them up. Thinking about making some jewelry from some also. Would be fantastic to see some pics of what others have! My fiance actually wants to go up too Lake Superior for her 50th birthday this year. I'm sure the beaches are picked frequently but wading out about waist/chest deep, might be a different story 😊

Sorry about that, I'll cut it back too posting only a few at a time next time, and do 2-3 pics of each. I actually like that green one with all the bubbles and white wisps through it. The one that appears too be black with yellow is actually a very dark rootbeer colored glass. The two groups of peltiers I have too clean up a bit. Thank you Chad and sorry for the abundance!
