  1. Nice cullet! And Nice mibs 😁
  2. Very nice πŸ‘ a keeper all the way
  3. I've got one darn near identical...Pelt Γ—3
  4. First catch of the year, a throwback but still the first 😊
  5. Nice, just saw the Kingfisher hit the water and come out with a little fry....there's also a bird in the trees behind me that sounds like one of my cats when they whine for a treat 🀣
  6. Well, so much for looking forward to August 8th and getting this feeding/Gtube out of my stomach. Went outside without a shirt on and opened my gate. The latch of the gate somehow wrapped up my tube and yanked it right out of my stomach! Sounds painful but actually I didn't realize it when it happened because I didn't even feel it. Somehow, the inflated "bladder" that keeps the tube inside my stomach deflated itself instantly! Nonetheless, emergency room bound last night as a precaution. Checked me out, cleaned me up and back home I went. Hopefully a Normal weekend with a lot of quiet is in store, because the old blood pressure was through the ceiling! Imagine trying to call 911 without a voice box! I was the only one home at the time so luckily it wasn't anything really bad. Not that a bunch of stuff gushing ones stomach is ideal either!
  7. Like they stated, everything gets pretty diluted over time and doesn't travel very far (meaning pesticides, etc.), but it's only a matter of time before it happens right here in and around town?
  8. Yeah, this trout stream you see here runs the whole county pretty much. From here outside Mabel it goes through Choice and Riceford, then afterwards through Rushford, Peterson and Lewiston. All these little waterways are interconnected somehow or another with the Root River, which is connected too the Mississippi River. The Root River also flows down into the northern counties of Iowa.
  9. Some more pics...this place is also known for its shooting range. I've seen guys bring pretty much any type of weapon imaginable out here too shoot some rounds. From competitors of the sport too your average hunter getting in some practice, it's the place. I've only shot once down here, back in 2019, an AR-15 and a 357 Magnum. And finally a collective sigh of relief as I have spotted some nice Brown trout! They were too quick for a picture but good too know all is well thus far. I'm sure the Rainbows are in there too!
  10. After reading about these fish kills going on around here in my area of the state, actually my county, I figured I would visit one of my local fishing holes. Still haven't fished yet this year but thinking soon! A really cool takeaway from getting these pics was watching a Kingfisher in action 😊
  11. Yeah. I feel for horrible for everyone that's having too deal with these massive shortages of water out West. It sucks. Did I read somewhere that the Hoover Dam could cease operations within 10 years due too lack of water, levels would be too low for it too function? Then I read articles about the Army Corps of Engineers and the rerouting of waters from the Mississippi river. What an undertaking that would be, loaded with both pros and cons!
  12. According to "farmers fokelore", corn should be knee high by the 4th of July. During the month after planting, there was some worry that it would achieve that. Not only did area crops achieve it, most went nuts! Some cornfields I saw were chest high at that time, there were even tassels in July! And too top things off, I just bought a bag of fresh picked sweet corn down in Iowa yesterday. Unbelievable. This family has it by the truckloads many weeks ahead of schedule. I want too see the finished results when things are installed, Tommy! Possibly before and after pics?
  13. As yourself and others here at MarbleConnection already know, I won't turn down a nice piece of slag. No matter who manufactured it. Nice Cornucopia, Chad! I've yet too run across one by Imperial in the wild. One day! 😊
  14. That's a nice marble though...either way, had yourself a hero πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ
  15. Actually haven't seen it myself for a couple weeks now...
  16. πŸ•· is our collective spider sense tingling???
  17. The back garden has literally exploded...watermelon, pumpkins, musk melon, Big Boys and cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, a nice variety of sweet and hot peppers (Shishito, Sweet Banana, Habanero, Sweet Bell, Sweet Heat, Cajun Belle, Pretty and Sweet), and Brussel sprouts...thinking next year we will expand out back with a 3rd plot!
  18. The tomatoes and melons in the middle yard. Better Boys and German Johnson's for the tomatoes. The storms recently coupled with the humidity brought some of the tomatoe stalks down, so I put in these large wooden "T's" for support...still some monster plants! And the melons are on the move. I have about a dozen more that size hidden in there...
  19. Been picking for over a week now! Some of what were hauling in...Cucumbers, Green Bell, Shishito, Sweet Banana and Poblano peppers...and some cherry tomatoes!
