We spray ours a couple times a year. Patty has had her first beehive for probably 8 years now, if not more. And she credits this longevity too Aquanet! Air tends too get pretty dry indoors and over time I'm sure these nests would fall apart. There's alot of honeycombs inside these things! I've seen a nest deteriorate from the bottom up and eventually the interior starts falling out of the hole in the bottom. Hives are tough to come by too! It's always first come first serve when one is found in the city limits. Chances are better in the wild but they sure are tough to find in the woods!

We use a extra strong hold hair spray on ours too preserve them. Otherwise over time they are prone to falling apart.

Tis' the beginning of the Christmas season, and this year, we decided to go with a fresh cut tree. Just got back from cutting it down out there in the wild! Gotta do a wee bit of trimming but here she is, a "before" picture soon to be followed by the "after" picture 😊

Only reason I am putting this here and nowhere else is because we spotted it out on the same land as the dig site. 2nd beehive this year! Just it's temporary resting place until we get it sprayed and decide where to mount it.

The Eagles have been all over along Highway 44, thanks to Minnesota's firearms season. Lots of deer on the run having not such good luck crossing. Ring the dinner bell! As Art stated, the Eagles are filling our skies with a vengeance. They have been cleaning up the unfortunate ones that couldn't make it across 44, and the crow's are right there "waiting in the wings" (no pun intended?), and jump right in when the Eagles finish up. I did love watching the Eagles on the Mississippi river while I fished last year, diving down for a meal too deliver too their nest nearby. I could just see the eaglets bobbing around in the distance as the parent landed. It's great to see one flying just about every day I'm out and about. I should throw it in there since we're discussing Raptor's and their feeding habits...I got too watch a Red Tailed Hawk snag a mouse out of a roadside ditch then glide up to a Telephone line to inspect its prey. Watching it swoop down was a thing of beauty.

Up and at em', popping that bird in the stove in a couple of hours. Did alot of the prep yesterday afternoon and the table will be full...Turkey, stuffing, homemade mashed potatoes, homemade green bean casserole, buttermilk biscuits, cranberry sauce, homemade apple and blueberry pies... Happy Thanksgiving my collecting Friends 🦃 Definitely cannot forget the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade followed by a full slate of the NFL!

Late update! Turns out that the bloody biopsy site is ok...my doctor is sticking by his diagnosis of cancer free... And guess what the culprit was...today the scab was really loose so I carefully removed it and guess what was clinging to it? A near half inch long suture! Working it's way too the surface and causing problems lol! Turns out that this surture must have also, IMO, been the reason my PET scan lit up in that spot! All good! Don't see anyone until February. Yay!
