X2. Marble--On!!

Was told this is a Vaseline Patch? Any more insight?
akroorka replied to Parmcat's topic in Marble I.D.'s
"Moss Agate" would not be in my description here, Ric. I know what you are talking about though--an Akro Patch with similar colors involved. The cutlines look like Akro but some of these bigger cutlines can be associated with Vitro as well. To tell the truth--I am on board with Fire here although "Veneered" more than usually means colors over white base glass. I would be surprised if it glowed. I am on the fence here—ouch! Nice find—nice images! Great marble—that baby blue really is a fine color in any marble. Marble—On!! -
Hmmm, I want to say Akro but that small blue cap makes me think Vitro. Regardless of the ID, this one came from the ground--not a pouch, bag or box. It was never for sale as an original imho. Notice the straitions and the almost ground places as if from grinding against a rock or rubble. The marbles that I get out of my garden from time to time do not show this type of damage and some come out as "Mint". I would call it a Dug Patch--maybe even a MK. Marble--On!!

Is this a type of Flame Swirl? I don't think it's a CAC but maybe?

@Fire1981 likes to call these "flickers". I agree--nice find. Marble--On!! -
Love it--keep the search going on. Marble--On!!

Do you see the orange reflections in the images? Opalescent glass is involved here, the white--pretty cool imho. This one is a Vitro "Conqueror". A common marble that may include some special finds such as yours. Thanks for sharing it along with the nice images that you have worked very hard on. Marble--On!!

These Akro orange on orange corks can be a hard ID for sure. Akro X2 imho. Nice find. Great images as well. Marble--On!!

I agree with not Akro. MK or possibly a Vitro imho. @Melissa may have some input here. Nice marble!! Marble--On!!

MK Rainbow X3. Nice find! Marble--On!!

The lighter colored clay part reminds me of an Akro crow, that along with the darker part including the striations in image #1 make me think “Dug Akro”. The orange is right in there as well. This is my final answer. Marble--On!!

Nice grouping Wolf--I love it. Marble--On!!

Well--not that many for sure. They seem to be almost as common as a Popeye for sale of this type though--maybe a few hundred thousand--or less--they were all put up for sale to collectors and all collectors were in the market for such. Yeh, I know, a pickup truck full of old wooden boxes full--that is still a bunch of marbles-but let’s get real. These are some of the most collectable "dumped Marbles" ever. (with the exception of most of the river dumped CAC) I always wanted one or two of these Akro type and I have a few--e-nuff said. Nothing to be ashamed of owning--just part of the history of Akro Agate. Marble--On!!

Nice group--for sure! Marble--On!!

There are pleny of Akro Cokscrews that meet up with this ones colors and design--this one is just a lonely stepchild that did not meet the mark. Keep it close to your heart and cherise it. Marble--On!!

I feel comfy cally this one a Akro Agate Slag. Nice find! Marble--On!!

I agree with all that has been posted for sure. Let me add this; it may have been one that rolled down the cold air exchange and landed on some coal which was heating the furnace for the home. I may have been in a house fire also—or just some kids like me back in the day throwing stuff on a fire. It has Fire damage—nothing from the Factory imho--cool find! Marble—On!!

I think that Fire is very close to the size here which is always important. This is one very nice looking Pelt Rainbo imho. Crop up the images and put it in sunlight in the future for a better ID as your marbles come along. This one is a lock imho. Marble--On!!

I am a Dink too--an AkroDink--nuf said here. Thanks for stepping in Nantucket-- Marble--On!!

Transparent yellowish green Vitro
akroorka replied to marblemanvintagemarbles's topic in Marble I.D.'s
X2 with Ric. This one has a less than common green transparent base glass included. It looks like this one came from a beach either from the Great Lakes or the Ocean. I would be happy to find it on the beach during a walk. I just found a marble in my garden that baffles me--a railroad (industrial) marble---you all know--the greenish ones filled with folds---the tracks are about 200 yards away--lol. Maybe a crow picked it up and hid it just for me😁. I still picked it up and cleaned it like it was a gemstone. We all love this stuff. Marble--On!! -
Different for sure and worth a post Mister 408. What @Ric says is true and to the point. Marble--On!!

Jabo X2--nice job with the images. This is a "Jabo Classic" or one made in the actual factory setting for sales around the world. These will be "Classic/Vintage" not to far in the future. Take good care of this type--very soft glass prone to hit marks. Marble--On!!
