  1. Oxblood on clear glass...I get shivers just thinking about it!!
  2. Oh, yeah, side by side would be awesome!!!
  3. I love when the Peewees looking like full size marbles! It's like, well, it's a miniature. Check out these beauties... Marble King peewees! They are 23/64"! And to the left is a wonderful little 3/8"!
  4. Totally Pelt Peewee and cute as it can be! I'm hooked on PeeWee's too!
  5. I know what bothers me and I'm bad about doing what I know should be done! If I had the space I'd set up a standard copystand setup for marbles but I do not. To me, it is the circle of light dead center, in the top part of the marble, face forward is very distracting. It's especially difficult if you're trying the seams. The lights on either side like 11:00 and 1:00 or 10:00 and 2:00 are better but very often they're very large lights. If if I can I try to include daylight and a point flash with fill on the sides. It can work out. or you can also use side lighting as your primary light that helps with seeing transparency/translucency
  6. Cool. That is very good fortune. This was fun!!! Kind of felt like you and I were just standing on the sidewalk talking about it, passing the marble back and forth!
  7. Agree Vitro Easter Egg. Nice call.
  8. Yeah, not Sunset for sure. I was thinking Euro Sparkler, so pointy pointy pointy pointy. But I don't know enough about them to go there initially.
  9. For me there's something about the size about a marble that is 23/32" . It's a significant size and looks really awesome and you can see details so nicely! It generally distorts the design in a gentle and interesting way. To me, it is in near perfect size for a marble!! I completely understand why a marble that is that size caught your initial attention! Plus it's acompletely awesome Ravenswood!
  10. What an incredible transformation!! I find it amazing that it goes clear in the process. I would have expected opaque white to brown and then black but it goes to clear and THEN ends up translucent black? It keeps its translucency even while being "burnt"? Oh man, that's incredible, that's incredible.
  11. Going to count up five colors for a Sparkler and hmmmm. But it don't seem like no Sunset structure to me. Definitely Sparkler with not five colors? Getting a headache. I'd rather deal with time travel!!
  12. MFC again? ... shoulda known as i was like WOW!
  13. Yes, oxblood for sure. Very interesting marble!
  14. I would think that you would have to have a lot of Creamsicles in order to actually call it Creamsicle other than a pet name and utilizing pet names. I think it's a dangerous thing to use a pet name "out loud" because someone reads it and likes it and applies it and oh boy there you are. I don't have any long history in this matter but the sharp history I have recently makes me understand the importance of only naming families of marbles where it's clearly demonstrated that there are a number of them, that other people can find and the need to talk about them as a group rather than a single marble. Just IMHO. At least that's how I'm going to do it. 😀
  15. Gosh, I mistyped. I meant I don't know any of the names of them off hand. Oops, sorry. I'll look...
  16. Looking like a Peltier Sunset to me. I don't know of any of them being named.
  17. You can also purchase a Westcott Circle template. That's extra fun because it's portable, you don't have to do any conversions if you are out and about and it's fun to put the marble on a non-slip surface and try different circles on it till you get the one that you want! My new collector kids have a lot of fun putting it on different size marbles and trying to guess what size they'll be. They don't like calipers at all! 😃 They're about 8 bucks. It gives decimals and fractions.
  18. Kinda Tiger Eye. I would call it a Tri-light before Tiger Eye.
