  1. The three times broken nose is the lie?
  2. There are most definitely some stellar mibs in this thread! It's possible I got suckered on this one and it's not a Jabo. However, after going through over five years of eBay feedback left for others, I found the description: 1993-1999 Jabo Classics Green Fields. It's one inch or very near in diameter.
  3. Texas was the lie. Though I've technically been to Texas, I don't count it among the states I've visited. All I saw was Dallas/Fort Worth International. The weather is great. However, it is very expensive to live there.
  4. A couple more. These Vacor Monarch Butterflies are from different nets. One is misshapen, and the other is broken. Edit: it seems to me that the oily/iridescent types are more susceptible to breakage than others. Perhaps I'm working with too small a sample, but I think every marble I've received broken has been an oily/iridescent.
  5. That's actually 100% true. I was born and raised there, and my permanent duty station was San Diego.
  6. I definitely will. Thanks for the welcome!
  7. Correct. I did think about joining the Army, as they were in need of personnel when I left the Navy, but opted instead to leave the service. Good to know you didn't try roasting marshamallows indoors! And three more... I have lived in Illinois. I have lived in Texas. I have lived in California.
  8. I'm guessing what I quoted are the lies? Now I'll play along. I tried yesterday, but I guess I never hit the submit button or the post got lost in the awaiting approval queue. I served in the U.S. Army. I served in the U.S. Navy. A song inspired me to collect marbles.
  9. Thanks! I've posted a few photos, and there are more to come.
  10. Just when I think I have my next Vacor purchase all carefully planned out, I see this. Now I'm thinking I should add some Serpents. Some good-looking mibs, and top-notch photos!
  11. Looks like it'll be a good read! The museum has a huge array of publications available...I'm assuming this one is number nine in the list of monographs linked below? http://www.magwv.com/museum_store.html
  12. Two marbles, right? Wrong! It's one Vacor Starfish that broke.
  13. I think these qualify. They're Vacor Pandas, all out of the same net.
  14. That wouldn't work for me, but they sure look good!
  15. I'm going to have to come up with some excuse to get my hide down to Hobby Lobby! Until then, here's a photo looking down into my marble jar. All visible marbles are target types. Fingers crossed that I'll soon be able to photograph them individually.
  16. After lurking for a while, I figured I'd introduce myself. I first got into marbles about five years ago, and have rekindled my interest in them. Most of what I have at present time is Vacor. (My user name is one of my favorite Vacor patterns.) I've enjoyed seeing the many photos of these wondrous little orbs, and should soon be contributing a few photos of my own.
