Hmmmm - just found this in all about marbles - another direction to go in 🤔

And these pictures are a sample, trying to demonstrate the variety. I've done 3 pictures for each pair on display.

So these are all the ones of this type I have, broken down into groups according to colour combination.

Ok, thanks for feedback. Here are better pictures. I'm not very experienced with sizing but these seem just shy of 3/4.

And I've taken this one from a different group as I think it belongs with these...

Right - photos re-done. I'm pretty sure the big one (just over 1") is, and because the shades match so well with some of the other ones (3/4), they seem to link together?

Thanks for the reply and enthusiasm with this head scratcher. I did do the pictures in a bit if a hurry as I was hoping it might just be obvious to someone out there. I'll do ones with better light and more angles today.

Trying to sort through everything I think vitro. I think these are all on opaque base but I'm happy to be corrected on any of my assumptions...

Very difficult to capture in some cases, I've messed with light levels a bit on some to try and show it but it's not always as evident in these pictures as it shows up in real life.

Ok, thanks. I suppose the ones with red in, where it's pretty tricky to spot could just be colour reflecting making me think it's fiery. I'll post some better pictures of the ones where it's most evident

Ok, so I think these are a mix of vitro and MK. I've been through them repeatedly, along with a load of similar looking types, back-lighting them. I've sorted these as showing varying degrees of "fire" inside. Some it's easy to spot due to the structure, however on others, it's more difficult, just seeing a glimpse through the seams, however it definitely seems to be there, especially when I'm comparing with others that don't have it. I'm aware of vitro opals but didn't realise MK had produced marbles that had this, although perhaps it's from the peltier cross over period (if I've got my time line straight). I know it's a pain, due to numbers, but if anyone is able to give me clearer IDs on these, I would be really grateful.

Thanks for this information, I knew as far as to not shine it directly in my eyes but this is definitely something I will take note of.
