Aha, good call. Never thought of using that function, I usually just use that to exclude Amazon...

I think I'm very jealous! -
Argh - Don't make my heart break 💔 cos of the damage. I had thought it might be a bit random swirly for pelt, and also had seen some images on Google lens that might suggest CAC but it always seems to throw up something someone is trying to sell on ebay for CAC and I didn't want to fall for that again. It came with some akros and all those transitionals that I put up the other day.

I don't know much, but to me (in UK) the colours don't strike me as what I've put together as (probably) Whisplers so far. I have seen some online with a touch of orange, but mostly they are earthy tones. Happy to be corrected though...

21/33 Unfortunately this is one of the marbles that I think suffered fresh damage due to poor packing by the seller. It's maddening, as all my cheaper lots have been packaged really well, but the one that I stretched myself on a bit, that I absolutely knew had some good stuff in, was basically a box with a fragile label on, and barely anything to cushion or separate them. Anyway, lesson learned...

Yay! Thanks mate

Bang on 5/8. I assume any green is just blending of the blue and yellow. Did I get this one right? 😀

Thanks for this info, and picture of your example, I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for more like this...

"However, unofficial trade was actively conducted through Hong Kong and Macau, allowing Japanese glass marbles to flow into China. Hong Kong also played a big part in distributing Japanese marbles to UK before 1954. This is when UK refused to import Japanese marbles with false most-favored-nation status via Hong Kong agents." I love how this bit is able to really make me wonder about the journey these marbles have had on their way to me (I'm in the UK).

3rd marble is my favourite in this line up!

@shiroaiko, hello, after your very informative advice on my most recent post, I thought you might like to have a look at this one, and share anything you might know.

And thanks for the labelling, I think this will be very useful for other collectors too.

Hiya! Thanks so much for your reply. These are real "sleeper" marbles, not sure if anyone gets what I mean, but I bought an Ebay lot because I spotted it had a couple of akro popeyes and a few other possibly interesting pieces. I hadn't really noticed these properly in the poorly taken photos, but once I sorted through everything, I noticed how stunning these are together. I'm quite frustrated because the seller didn't pack very well, and there was definitely a very small amount of glass dust when I unpacked (but in my excitement I forgot to take a picture as evidence). I think the akros suffered a little bit of fresh damage, but these seem to have escaped that fate incredibly well.

Hi, would all of these come under the term Japanese transistional? I think I have a few classed as figure 8s, but I'm not entirely sure. The quality and colours of this group are just gorgeous.

That was my initial thought but then I possibly got swayed by some Google misdirection...
