  10. well to start thing off I lost another very good friend the other day so tomorrow is the wake just a bit down as we were friends since almost out of high school so Jan I headed out to hit a few antiques stores , well got there and sure enough they were closing / moving and not much there , nothing to find but when we were heading out I am all ways partial to the tall lighter cabinets that rotate even though I have way to many but never enough so I asked is that cabinet for sale ? well he said yes just more I would not have to move . I said how much and with out any hesitation he said $15.00 and I would have to take all the cars .!!! I almost fell over , jan gave me the look like not another . and even faster than he said $15.00 Jan said it will never fit in the car . so when loading it on a cart I say even more cars and said since I got all these how much for every thing and he said another $10.00 . So all I need now is some one to buy al;l the cars and of course I have another project as I have to fix the base . just down the road was another store also closing / moving . got an amethyst mica very wird but I was feeling so good I spun the wheel . Mike now the mica well I think the pontil is called twisted . and only a few pices of mica .

  13. Well I know Akro never made them on purpose I was trying to get across was that I think some one put in a box or was a gift from an employee who also gave a gift box as it was with some many marbles that would have been all together in a box and this was also added in or ? . As I do not think it was just some thing bought separate or found alone had to have some kind of close connection to the plant . For sure not a digger but then never say never. I bet kids have been sneaking in at night since day 1 ?? . but what ever it is , now just in a cabinet . Mike http://smg.photobuck.../257%20marbles/

  21. well I was out today to look at marbles I was send a few pics and saw a hand made and a Christensen so I thought it was worth the 15 mile trip well 30 round trip and in rush hour in Milwaukee but was worth it The board I passed on because of the mold plus I have one like it . here are the pics I had to look at . well there all soaking now except the one that went straight to the chipped box . there are at least 3 Christensen Akro and even an early Akro ace cork in moonie glass . the big bennington was not in the pics . will post the good stuff after a good soaking . Mike $30.00 plus 30 miles and soda's and donuts as I had my Grandson Christian along as we even scrap and tear apart and rummage together. Samuel had to stay with Jan as he had home work . these are junk pile well I guess marbles have been getting polished a long time ago as these have been sitting for sure since the 60's all for now but when I saw that the hand made was polished it just me thinking how it was a special marble or ??? but for sure just sitting in a coffee can over 50 years for sure .
