Very Rare Peltier Rainbo 15/16 Amber Base Glass ?
mmuehlba replied to mmuehlba's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
yes even in the case it looked worth having them get the key . and better yet they were marked $3.00 each for the big ones and $2.00 for the small ones , since it was the only glass marble in the box in fact in the complete store I was happy . the biggest beside this pelt was a blue bennington at 3/4 and I have way to many of them in fact I sell off just about all I find . but this is the only one I have with that color base glass . I have big sunset with a bubble in the center that still has liquid in it just tap or move it and wow like moving a level . I got it from the original owner as he said it was his lucky marble and has a few chips it show play ware . hard to get a picture of it . Mike -
here is what I think is a 15/16 peltier rainbo just found today in a antique store mixed in all alone with some benningtons looked very different in the case so had it opened and when held in hand could see the cut off lines and the very seedy / bubbly amber base glass . so picked it up , never saw one like it so either very rare or very new . any ideas as I have nothing like it . it is about .935 /.945 so 15/16 in size the amber color is like the amber slags but very seedy / bubbly . Mike here is an album with a lot of pics to help with ID ,I think it is a peltier rainbo white ribbons amber base glass . Yes I think I bought some of my french ones from Bert Cohen every time he sends an item he would ad a few other clips of other marble related items . I can not forget my very first but from Bert even before ebay some very rare tootsie roll pop papers with picture of children playing marbles , boy was I sad when I found they were still on the tootsie roll pop papers so after so many I stopped saving them . I still like some of these paper items , Mike Single Playing Card Vintage US Wide Named "Knuckle Down'... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Single-Playing-Card-Vintage-US-Wide-Named-034-Knuckle-Down-039-034-KN-1-1-A-/291169064800?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=aMLwRzL8hMsZ3fRMZsNWfPDnGfc%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

there are very few older cards some day I will put a lot of then on the web I have two of the one most common of the older ones I got it because the card seamed to be left and right when made before cutting they I think were made on larger sheets and then cut ?? The one I like the most is boys town as I loved that movie and if it came on the tube I would watch it again . for sure boy hood memories . Mike

it is a water solvable floor wax from a school , It is a polymer and was used in the floors and was a soft wax in other words we would not have to burnish with a machine to get a shine . it has been a lot of years so I forgot the name . Mike -

Black Brick Or Just A Black Marble Withj Oxblood Mfc
mmuehlba replied to mmuehlba's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
No green it is just a solid black and a lot of black the more I look I can see the oxblood well into the black so may be just a brick with no white . wish it was better as it does look like just oxblood was added but I guess not how they were made ? so then is a black brick just a ? or just a regular with a name for more value ? Mike .. -
well here is a very different MFC marble very dark and signs of a lot of use and life in a marble bag . so would this be a black brick or just a black marble with oxblood , for sure a good # 9 and tail . open to all answers , got a few when just a little water . . Mike It is small at only 5/8 . wish it was better as it is dark needs a lot of light to be seen . rare or ?/ worth a wax job ? http://smg.photobucket.com/user/mmuehlba/library/Black%20brick there are a few more pics in the album should be able to see all the pics
