budwas Posted August 27, 2016 Report Share Posted August 27, 2016 That's a good question Steph, I've carved a good bit of soap stone from Montana and alabaster from Colorado. Have seen a lot of onyx in New Mexico. Some of the brown looks to be onyx and some of them lean toward agate. The white, black and yellow looks more like marble or alabaster but I've never seen black alabaster. The green I don't know. Lol, more to ponder!
