AckCat
Hello, I’ve been a lurker ‘till now. I found this marble in an eBay lot I bought a while ago. Can someone point me in the right direction? It looks like it has a melted pontil (5th photo).
akroorka
A very hardy welcome to you AckCat! This may be an older transitional marble. Post the size of it and what you may consider to be an opposite cut-off mark. The first image shows what I think may be the opposite of the pontil that you describe. Marble on my marble collecting friend!!
AckCat
Thanks for the reply. The marble is about .680 inch in diameter. What looks like a pontil is shown in the last photo.
akroorka
Ackcat, You may have misinterpreted what I ask. All marbles, no matter the make or model have two cut-off points. I would just like to see the other end, or the opposite cutoff mark. Marble on my friend!!
dannyboy
Your marble is a transitional type. It was made by one of James Leighton's companies located in Navarre, Ohio. Late 1800's to early 1900's.
