Found this ine in the wild today while working in another town and did a Quick marble check in a 2nd hand store

Found this one in a bag full of marbles i bought

Almost looks like an Akro Cork Snake if you ask me , could be Veiligglas Wirepull also but its a nice one for sure 🤹‍♂️🥳

Yes, I recently found some Heatons (oddly enough) and probably two Cairos in my area.

They are not easily found by us, but every now and then you can come across something nice, like the Akro shooter that I found about 15 days ago

Heaton/Cairo

I'm just curious, being a novice at this and not very familiar with Heatons and Cairos of which I probably unknowingly have in my boxes... Are there any characteristics that shout out Heaton and Cairo? From the ones that are pictured, it looks like the swirls are somewhat thick and they loop around. I notice that perhaps some of the swirls may loop so closely that they look more tear drop shaped. Also, the base doesn't look densely opaque (if that makes sense). Just wondering if any of these do in fact make one suspect that a marble is a Heaton or Cairo. Thanks!

Cairo and Heaton are very similar, since they were partners with the company as well as brothers-in-law, therefore, after their separation they used (if not all) the same glass.

However, there may be features that can distinguish them, namely; the famous and somewhat vulgar (so to speak) "BUTT CRACK" known from the Cairo structure, later also attributed to Jabo "classic"

In Heaton on the other hand, it is the typical "ear" shape in the swirl that distinguishes it from other companies.....you can see it in my group photo, the red one at the bottom center.

The marbles of both companies are rather transparent and translucent rather than opaque, but in any case there are also the latter.

Yellow seems to have been used more by Cairo than By Heaton.

Then, each of these companies, to its own typical exclusive marble in absolute, namely the "red lightning" of Cairo, with glass type "GEL" and with large bubbles.

To Heaton? I don't remember the name, maybe "red rose", (similar to Ravenswood's red raven) but I know for sure that there is an unnamed marble (I think) with Heaton's exclusive colors ..... then I show them.

Then, with a little experience you will notice other tricks, although of course in some it will be impossible to distinguish them.

Below, I'll show a typical and maybe HTF "red lightning" of Cairo

Personally I think the original post is an Akro two-color multitwist corkscrew.

Thanks Al,
I at least think that at the very least Mojo is on the right track.
These yellow Akro snakes do show up with a white "Tracer" (RIP Gino Biffany).
Da Roberto shows a very good argument, a great one in fact.
I am on the fence with this one--it hurts to be on the fence.
Regardless of the maker--it is very close to being an Akro and it is a well thought out ID By Mojo, also a great response by Da Roberto.

Nice marble!!
Marble—On!!!
