A Very Good Marble Day

Yesterday afternoon I got my first marble mail in six years - a new Champion Furnace Swirl - and an old friend stopped by with a baggie full of his homemade fudge after he heard I`d been in the hospital with pneumonia, and I spent the rest of the afternoon with fudge and coffee trolling through the Archives. What a pleasure! Found old threads I`d forgotten about and some I`d never seen before - such beautiful marbles. One I`d forgotten about that I started "Calling All Cat`s-Eyes,"with such beautiful kitties; another I had completely forgotten about even though I had participated in it about the old (and  some new) stone agates; and one remarkable one on Asian Patches I`d never seen before - lots of fantastic marbles posted by our old friend Winnie in Amsterdam. Just looking at page after page of wonderful marbles was so extremely pleasant I`m going to do the same thing this afternoon (with coffee and fudge), and I hope you all take a break like that in the Archives very soon. It`s so refreshing. No puzzling over what something is (or not) - just pure pleasure. It`s what we`re all here for, after all, and I can pretty much guarantee that you`ll find yourself smiling while doing so. Thanks, Steph, for saving all this from oblivion . . .

Oh yes, and I'll add one more thing. I want to thank you for bringing back such a wonderful memory from my childhood.

My older sister Nila used to make the best homemade fudge when I was younger (and those little "wedding cakes" too, remember those?)...I literally just went back in time while reading your post. Priceless memories.

Thanks again for triggering those memories 😊

Glad to hear you are on the mend from your pneumonia. That must’ve been a bear…I can’t imagine. Fudge and a new marble sounds like a great way to continue on your recovery.

I appreciate you mentioning all the above threads. I can’t stop poking around here in all the great content…and apparently I’ve only chipped away at the surface.

Thanks for all of your input on my marble ID’s. As a newbie it’s really priceless to have a resource like this with such kind and friendly folks :)
