Took 3 dives to catch a fish, seconds later an eagle swooped in, causing the osprey to drop his catch. Eagle circled around and picked it up.

the eagle sits in a nearby cottonwood, just watching and waiting…

I took a couple shots of them nesting on top of the pilings while we were out Sturgeon fishing the Estuary of the Columbia River.

Have you ever listened to Stan Freeburg presenting the USA? It is hilarious, Ben Franklin wanted the Turkey to be the national bird, and serve Eagle for thanksgiving.

Eagles are scavengers, plain and simple.

If you never saw an Eagle snatching a fish out out the water in northern Wisconsin--you might think that.

Many moons ago I saw this within 100 feet, back when they were quite rare.

The fish was struggling to get away--A nice Pike--around 30 inches.

Eating fish laced with DDT is what almost killed them off. We used to ride our bikes through that crap when the city sprayed for skeeters🤢.

Later that same day we checked out a Golded Eagle nest with hatchlings--very cool and rare.

Eagles on!!!

Turkeys are for the Table--LOL.

Ospreys are very awesome birds, much better than bald eagles.

we have to watch our pups in the yard, all are less than 10lbs. Killing an eagle can get a $50K fine, unless you can prove they were attacking your pets.
