StevenJustSteven
So I have an individual who is interested in several of my Peltiers. I’m having a hard time identifying them in order to find an average pricing for them. What would be the fair market value on these if bought individually and at a condition of 9.9?
Alan
Most of these are not "9.9". If you described them anywhere near that and I bought them - I would return them shortly after opening the box. Accurate identification AND grading are important.
Chad G.
Agree, a 9.9 will basically be defect free, whether from the factory or not, condition, condition, condition, the three c's of marble desirability & evaluation. Then comes rarity. I wish I could help ya out but I'm simply in no position right now, maybe a consignment type sale would be good for you, I'll do a little diggin & see who I can come up with ?? There are several reputable Ebay sellers that buy & sell on a commission type basis. There are a few on this board that may be able to point you in the correct direction. Patience, a lot of questions & a couple PM's are probably in order.

But asking you guys to first grade it and then price it creates a lot of variables. If I can’t get what they are prices at in tip too shape I can easily lower it according its current condition. I know accurate identification AND grading is important. If I didn’t think it was don’t you think I wouldn’t be inquiring on here?

Jimbo.59
If I were just to wildly guess, or list these myself at "buy it now" Id ball park it as such: 45-50$ 25-30$ 10-15$ 10-15$ 10-15$ And for the last one I'm not sure I've seen many examples of this one
Chad G.
# 14 also resembles a Vacor IMHO, the orange peel texture and ribbon structure is wrong for Pelt & are Vacor traits. Pricing is all a matter of perspective, Ebay is a bad place to base any type of pricing on. The prices are all over the map & I see marbles daily selling as something they obviously aren't, people are simply buying into the sellers jargon. That being the reason we have "Reputable Sellers" their pricing is current market, many of the sellers start @ $9.99 or less & let the marble sell itself, the Ebay list are here @ the top on the menu to @ least partially protect our board members from all the scammers. If you can possibly make it to a show you'll find 99% of the people are honest & will work w/ you & try to give you a hand in your pricing & or selling endeavors. Yes there are many misrepresented marbles listed, but given the fact you are halfway capable of id'ing marbles, if you look at multiple true examples of COMPLETED dragons, cub scouts, Spiderman, zebra etc, you are gonna wind up with a pretty good ballpark of what yours will sell for. Just use some discretion and common sense and always watch the reputable sellers like many you have listed... Cedarman7 is great. eBay is a great platform and in a lot of ways is a cornerstone for the marble market value so to speak. There's just not many other places to buy and sell. Just do your research and be confident in your bid before you go bidding over 20 on something and you'll almost never lose your arse in my opinion
Jimbo.59
But yea a marble is gonna sell for what someone will pay for it, so absolutely start it low, and it will likely sell for what it's worth

Man marble shows are wonderful. I wish I had the privilege to attend more of them... Talk about paying a truly fair price for a marble When compared to that, eBay is definitely a bit inflated... But it's like buying a new car in 2023, you buy where you can, thus a new market value for new/used vehicles is born 😂 🤣 Sadly so.... Even well executed rainbos now are fetching a fair price in a good color way... Most old timers would never spend 5 to upwards of 30 dollars on a nice rainbo. But they are becoming more collectable, Im starting to see it happen all of the time Getting crazy out there 🫣
StevenJustSteven
I just want to make sure I reiterate something that is quite important for me. My intentions were never to try and pretend like what I was showing was anything close to 9.9. There isn’t a single in that is in that condition that I’ve posted. Surely you know that I know that. I’m nearly certain I could hide nearly all blemishes from showing up in a photo if deception was the goal. That is in no way how I operate in any capacity. Lowering a price down from the top is much easier than trying to figure out where the top is. Asking you guys come up with its value according to its condition is asking for a lot to be lost in translation. But asking you how much it would go for if it had been in a 9.9 condition and then I take that number and drop it to match it’s current condition stands to be a much better approach. Of course I’m only able to consider things using what I know, which isn’t much as it relates to marbles. The line between newby and expert is a fat one. I know, I know I should have saved the sale. I'll try and bring it back up ?? It looked almost identical to this one on the Peltier I.D. site. I looked @ this listing, "Buy it now" I don't think this listing is a Pink Panther or even a Pelt IMO, Gonna be there a while unless an unwary collector or a newbie w/ a lot of money stumbles by, a "scam" IMO LINK :: https://www.ebay.com/itm/305208748762?hash=item470fdbeada:g:pH0AAOSwNvNlLXwt&amdata= Ah, I found it, here's the real deal LINK :: https://www.ebay.com/itm/166517337680?hash=item26c534ee50:g:7cgAAOSw0l9lh6Mg&amdata= There were a couple sold, one had a bit of av in it, the marble wasn't mint but I guess somebody really wanted the av ??
