Markh808
My dad left me a bunch of marbles when he passed. I am finally going through and trying to identify. I have no idea what I have. I don’t really want to sell them, just want to know what I’ve got. I know this is a “Moonie” box. Not in the best condition, my dad told me if the marbles glow oranges in the light, the are real moonies. Do these look real as far as you can tell? And what do you guys think of the box? I have only found a couple online. Thanks again
Alan
Box is vintage, although a bit beaten. Approx. 4 of the marbles are Moonies. The rest are backfilled other types.

This is the place to start—Welcome by the way, If I missed you previously, to “TheMarbleConnection”. The box is pretty nice imho. I believe that you have a "Moonie" box top and an Akro "Flintie" box bottom. Moonies and Flinties are sisters---they act the same but the Flinties have a few more colors involved regarding the marbles. The "Flinties" boxes are greenish--the "Moonies" boxes were blueish. You do know how to shine a Moonie—the last image--good job! I am glad to see that neither you nor your father attempted any repairs on the box. Leave it alone, keep it out of the sunlight and enjoy it for years to come. A #1 sized marble is 11/16”. You can find them if you bring a good strong light along with you when hunting. The Christensen Agate Company also made marbles very close to the Akro Agate types—this may be splitting hairs though. I am glad to see this box posted here and very happy to see that you want to keep it. I just love this stuff!! Marble—On!!
