  1. They were not found. Someone should contact the police in Phoenix.
  2. Torch marbles made from a cane. John Hamon Miller made the canes and Sonny Miller, his father made the marbles on the torch. The largest marble is going to Puerto Rico
  3. These are also made with Hamon frit and there won't be anymore. Sonny used all he had in these marbles. These marbles were clearies that he heated and then applied the frit. They look a little like guineas. One of these marbles is going to Puerto Rico.
  4. I visited with Sonny Miller before the Marble Buddies Holiday Edition run. Sonny was the brother in law of Robert L. Hamon. He had a little frit made by Bob Hamon and incorporated it into some marbles made with the torch. Here are a few. This one is going to Puerto Rico to live with my friend Joel. These two marbles are going in my cabinet. All are close to an inch.

  9. No one has posted Marble Buddies Holiday Edition so here are some of the Sammy's Mountain Marbles made Nov. 6, 2012. It's a great group and we made some pretty marbles. Dave McCullough, Sammy Hogue, Richard McKnight, and Tom worked hard for us. These were named "Nola" for Nola Morgan. They were the first marbles with color to come down the rollers. They are lavender and green on white These marbles are peewees and most of these have cold rolls.
  10. There is another Vitro that is blue based. The "Easter Eggs" or "pastels" as some call them have a light blue base glass.
  11. I think it's manganese that causes that orange glow in the dark.
  12. Winnie, your's is beautiful. The contemp makers learned from the old furnace workers, copied their designs and made them their own. If I had antique hand mades, I'd be proud to post them.
  13. I have a question. Contemp makers call a marble "mist" if it looks like the red, white, and blue Hamon I have in post #3. the antique handmade looks to me like it has lutz laid out in bands or ribbons like the blue, purple, and green Hamon in the same #3. The contemp makers lay the lutz in ribbons and then twist it along with the colored ribbons. I would not call the marble in post #10 a mist. Are the rules different for antique and contemp? Not criticizing, just curious about the difference.
