  1. There are cutoffs somewhere on or in these marbles but no "seams" on these - they're swirls. The first one does look mostly like a JABO contract run or other newer marble to me. The dark green surrounding the red looks sort of contrived IMO (I'm not convinced it's oxblood - at least not yet). As for the second one, Alley and Heaton both did these colors and I don't recall newer marbles that did - it wouldn't necessarily surprise me if they're out there though. If this one is vintage, and it looks it to me, I'd lean Heaton over Alley.
  2. @Tommy This is a great marble and a cool example of what i think of as Pelt's "pink-wash". I am not sure what it is but there is something in this striping glass that almost appears to "leak out" onto the white base and stain it pink. I see it fairly often on Peltiers but it's not something I see much on marbles from other companies. Similar thing here, but now it's "leaking" out onto adjacent white ribbons instead of base glass. The gray baseball is great too. They're not that easy to find in my experience.
  3. The marble front and center looks the most Vitro to me from this single view - probably because of the red.

    Named Vacor?

This is very cool! It's reminiscent of a Vitro Jewel Tray. I've never seen anything quite like it. What exactly is it? And I was not meaning to sound harsh, I'm just big on original packaging in general and especially for verifying the identification of marbles from producers I don't have examples of or know much about myself. It's me, it's not you. 🙂
  5. I agree this is early. I think I have a couple of similar ones that I have tentatively ID'd as Vitro. But I have never been completely convinced, mainly because of the construction, seams and colors. They are quite unusual for Vitro, IMO. Lately, I have been thinking more about other possibilities like maybe El Agila. But I don't know if El Aguila can have perpendicular seams like Vitros. It's a hard thing to tell from photos and I haven't had nearly enough in hand to know from experience.
  6. They don't impress me as new. The left looks a little more Jabo-esque than the right, at least to me. But I would need more views of both to offer more.
  7. That was definitely a good snag - it's a great example. If it's not already in the "Show us your Vitro's" thread, it should be.
  8. As I remember, and I could be wrong, Ringers were essentially like corking Aces/Imperials so you may be very close, actually. @akroorka I agree, I think Imperials, Aces and Ringers are all basically the same marble in different configurations, and marketed in different ways, similar to Moss Agates, which also come in spiraling and non-spiraling variations.
  9. That's the thing about transparent swirls - they look so good together in a big group! I'd like to see a smaller group photo of everything that's 9/16" or less. 🙂
  10. I had not seen these photos before, Aiko. @davesnothere 's marble looks much more similar to some of these than to the bolitas or other wirepulls in your other post.
  11. I think the glass on yours looks seedier than the ones Aiko posted here. The striping stream is a bit different too, I think. These look more like thinner Veligglas to me.

Definitely, Dave, if you have similar marbles that you are sure are Taiwanese, please post them. It'd be nice to see more examples.

    Named Vacor?

Taiwanese seems like a reasonable possibility to me too. Am I right that the two you questioned are bigger than the examples you show here? Also, the two marbles in question appear considerably more refined than the examples you show. Based on just these comparisons I would not rule out other possibilities. They certainly could be from a different era but I think they could be from a different producer too.
  14. That's probably one of the best AV Whities I've seen. And I don't remember ever seeing blue AV on Vitro.
  15. Good Alley. The gun metal colored base is harder to find.
  16. That looks like a Peltier Peerless Patch to me, Charlie.
  17. I'd say you're 2/3 correct. I think the last is a Pennsboro Alley.

    Named Vacor?

The seams on those two marbles look a little different from El Aquias, IMO. They seem deeper and tighter. I would guess they are from somewhere closer to you than to me. 🙂
  19. The more I look at these marbles the more I think they may not be American. I think these may need to be at least temporarily assigned the ID of "Awesome patches of unknown origin". These really are great marbles and they sure look vintage. I think they may have been produced by a company whose production we don't entirely understand. We may or may not already know something about the producer and their marbles. They are quite unique and I don't think I am familiar with their kin.
  20. I enjoy the story and history together with the marbles! This early development of Cat's Eyes is so interesting!
  21. These are still my favorite kind of marbles - swirls, and there are some very nice ones in your post! I am late to comment but it took me a while to move beyond looking at the photos. 🙂 I enjoy looking at marbles and your photography takes that experience to a new level. The detail you are able to capture is a joy to behold. This particular photo is stunning and the marble is one of my favorites too! Thank you for posting!
  22. @Mojo I'd say it's possible, but I think this type of plain marble was produced for a variety of purposes. It'd be pretty cool to find a laticcino in a cod bottle though!
