  1. It's not a cat's eye type marble . . . If I remember correctly, the Akro pigtails I have seen are like a wispy tight spiral, usually inside of a transparent spiral (Snake).
  2. Not like the Akro "pigtails" I've seen - more like a ribbon.

    Alley?

It might just be the lighting but it looks more yellow than I am used to seeing, especially the second one.
  4. It looks a lot like some Champion game marbles I've seen.

    Alley?

The base is a little unusual for a Pistachio, sure looks like it might be a variant though. It's definitely a nice marble, regardless.
  6. Thanks Al, I know there are all kinds of back-filled Champion poly bags out there. I've seen the headers selling by the roll on EBay, which really complicates matters.
  7. I was expecting opaque game marbles or swirls. Instead, I found clearies and cat's eyes . . . Unfortunately, the letter was not inside.
  8. Nice, Melissa, they look like older types to me.
  9. It looks sorta Akro-ish to me, especially the colors. I'll have to get into the archives and see what I can find. Nice marble though, regardless of who made it!
  10. Nice, Chuck. Is Vitro's name anywhere on the packaging? Was there any indication of a date anywhere on the carton? It seems like they may have been packaged for a jobber - maybe 1970s?
  11. Cool, Rick - Cory makes some nice marbles.
  12. @Joe2 Nice, I am really liking that Snowflake Obsidian!
  13. Thanks for the update, and nice work - it looks like you are well on your way to 100 marbles!
  14. @supramisfit Nice marbles, the first one is unusual for Vitro and I'm really liking that Type IV Tiger Eye.
  15. Does anyone have any confirmed examples of the cat's eyes produced by Champion Agate? I understand that they were made in limited quantities but it seems like there should be some known examples out there somewhere. I have never seen any in packaging, has anyone else?
  16. Just browsing around the "Study Hall" today and realized how interesting it is that an apparently German artist adapted the fairly common theme of "cormorant fishing" from Japanese woodblocks and applied it to scenic chinas. I think this is a very attractive marble and would probably buy it if I had the opportunity and the price was right.
  17. Thanks for showing another great HG marble - I can certainly see a similarity in the red on yours and Jeff's.
  18. It's right about 0 degrees F here this morning and I don't plan to stray too far from the fire today . .
  19. I saw all of the "Taz" pogs in your earlier post and thought the "Looney Tunes" marbles might be related. I'm surprised there are multiple sources for these types since they don't seem to be all that common in the wild.
  20. Is this what you were referring to, Joep? I remember this story well - it was a really interesting post!
  21. Another Master "Snow Globe" in keeping with the theme . . . . . . a bit more ominous than the beauties Chad posted.
  22. Ha, I thought I was the only one who actually liked to shovel snow. Unfortunately, here in West Central Indiana we got just enough snow to make it pretty, not enough to sled or have any real fun though - took me all of 15 minutes to sweep the walk and slab.
  23. Seriously . . . one in each hand? Wow, Art, you really are a BA.
