  1. Sounds good,That would definatley make a stripped transparent a cut above slag.Thanks Mark.bo
  2. Another single seam CAC.Stripped transparent?
  3. I need to take pics but until then here is a flea market score.Mostly slags and a couple aventurine mibs.bo
  4. Hey folks, don't forget it's Saturday nite.Big Greenie is gonna be popular around here!
  5. Wow! those are really great!Beautiful!
  6. Thanks Mark,I like big slags too.The purple one I think might be a Master, anyway there keepers!
  7. Got these two today.Big green one measures 1-1/4" the purple measures 13/16".Slag is an MFC,I think, the other has me wondering, haven't seen one like this, it has a ribbon of bubbles streaking through it's clear window. Also the seams come to a point facing the same direction around the marble.I'm putting more pics of the purple one in ID section.bo
  8. Look like exotics to me.They are beautiful
  9. Not until I've said what I've been waiting to say from the beginning of this thread.Diaperfold got me looking at all of the CAC marbles that I have, looking hard. Then two days later I found myself looking at Exotics.I was able to return a second time and examine them again. There are some big differences between my CAC and the exotics, contruction. They were beautiful, but the colors are off. They seemed too pretty to be that old.I have looked at alot of marbles. Now I will build a scenario, hypothetical.Let's say you and I have some very good fake marbles and some jabo's, Lots!!! of common stuff, damaged stuff, polished or worse vintage marbles. Then we could leave the good stuff at home and sell the other stuff, that's what we are offering.Over time we discribe and put pictures of fake marbles in books and wala, now there is an unending supply of product and I still got the good stuff at home.We will redefine in 10-20 years. What is the definition of that? bo
  10. Looks like a diaperfold to me Sue wrote "These "experts" are out to correct us all in our terminology... Get it all in print, so that EVERYONE will be on the same page!!!" Sue I think it's about more than definitions,it's about $$$$$$$$$ got any? They want it! bo
  11. Here is an early marble drawing taken from a cave wall located behind my house. "I draw marbles..." ROFLMAO
  12. Wow,great pics.Makes sense to me.Another diaperfold.
  13. Steve, very early on,the principals of this post more or less defined diaperfold to be a marble with one seam CAC and that has been the subject.Wheter or not our subject fits your definition is not the subject. You have tried to hijack this thread and are trying again.Get with the program, single seam CAC call them what you like.Single seam CAC or diaperfold.I am side stepping this argument in favor of more marble fun.bo
  14. There are two diaperfolds(single seam CAC) in this picture.bo
  15. Diaperfold? slag? stripped transparent? not flourescent
  16. I was a little sceptical about the 30%-$40% diaperfold ratio but Ive found six so far and just starting hmmm. This purple slag here ,is that one seam or two seams close together? What is really cool is when I find one like this yellow/black two seam opaque, does that look electric?
  17. Thanks Ann,I must have been quoting Bob Block 3rd edition about miller swirls"these marbles have only one seam".Well we know nothing can be that simple and I'm not the keeper of the rules, but that's were my info came from. Thanks Ric and everyone for all the great pics,I have some time now to go through some of my stuff and I'm able to Id those diaper folds better now that I have seen more examples! Hoping to see more.bo
  18. Here is a favorite of mine ,it's just over one inch.I believe it to be a CAC slag two seam marble. But I had a thought,if this was a Peltier marble it would still be a two seam marble, right? Sooo... maybe some of these definitions could apply to other than CAC marbles. There are marbles out there that have no seams(that I can find)so seamless could apply to marbles other than CAC marbles. Now the sticky one the diaperfold, perhaps a better name would be single seam. OK,I have Peltier marbles that have a single seam, but they don't look like the CAC single seam marble(constructionwise). What marble has a single seam like the CAC diaperfold(single seam)? So maybe the diaperfold definition is a CAC thing and other single seam marbles are just single seam? Make any sense? But,in my opinion we can't give more creedence to a definition than we can the marble. In other words what is more important, the definition of a marble? or the story of the marble? Have we gone to far with definitions ,naming, etc. It's enough for me to know who made it,maybe a little more info would be nice. But too much info takes us into an area that can be a minefeild of dissagreement. One last thought. What kind of collector are you? I am like the bottle digger that digs up a bottle that has'nt stood on a shelf in a hundred years.Hello bottle! and now I have the satisfaction of cleaning it up and putting it back in it's rightful place with it's kin on my shelf. It's enough to know who made it,a little more info would be nice.I feel the same about my marbles,I am satisfied to put these marbles back with there kin,a little more info is nice.I know not everyone feels that way but these are my opinions. That's enough for now.bo
  19. Yes,I agree with you, this is the marble I immediatly thought of when you started this post. Thanks Catfish and Ann for your information. I'm not trying to hold anyone to any definition I only became intriqued after looking at these single seam mibs. It's especially interesting to try imagining how they made them without a tail or a second seam.I'm not a CAC collector,I can afford Peltiers, the CAC's I have were tag alongs from other groups I have gotten. So this is new to me,thanks for your patience.bo
  20. Well it's been awhile now and these will have to do for discussion sake. Two questions I'd like to ask, first does anyone have an idea of the percentage of diaperfold(single seam) to double seam opauqes made? Second question is does anyone have any idea how they were made? These opauqes are very plain and both are purple, is this signifigent? If anyone has single seam CAC to compare to these I would like to see them.I am going through slags now looking for diaperfolds and found one so far.The construction of all three marbles are the same ,single seam and the glass flows directly around the marble with some wavering. This is a great subject and I think much can be learned.bo
