Well it looks like they put oxblood in six-vane cats.I took a pic outside to try and get the aventurine in the powder blue but it is light and hard to photograph. Can anyone tell me who made these.I don't have any reasearch or stats on these ,I just find em,Thanks Bo

Thanks Plan B for your help. I wanted to put up another pic of the fat banana while the sun is out,you can see the hybrid color and aventurine better now.Bo

Well I went back down there and I thought for the sake of this conversation i ought to just get them all.The seller was morte than happy to explain his under standing of the Citru catagory. He nexplained that these were made in the late 30's,just prior to WWll.At that time certain ingredients that were needed to make the normal vibrant colors were not available, they were neede for the war effort. The colors were thought to be anemic so not many were made? sold mostly used for promotional purposes.I don't have any figures on how many were made. From left to right Citrus Ketchup And mustard.Second Citrus oddball.Third Citrus Christmastree.Fourth Citrus Patriot.Fifth Citrus Rebel. As I said I am no expert ,I am only passing on info I have gathered from fellow marbler.Bo

VT I am not an expert in this field but I was just looking at a group of citrus type yesterday offered by a reputable dealer, there are five in all.He had a complete set of five and the clear KM was one.I am going back to see him again today and I will ask him about them,he is very knowlegable.Once again I am a collector, not and expert.I too was suprised to see that type in the Citrus catagory.I will try to get some pics.Bo

Hello Carol,I believe your transparent Ketchup and Mustard is a member of the Peltier Citrus catagory.I have one like yours and that's what I was told when I bought it at the Las Vegas marble show.Great pics Bo

So you are saying the Cosmic Rainbows could have been made in Anacortes but they where using up the Parkersburg headers. That would make the Cosmic Rainbows around 20 years old rather than 30 years old.So they would have been a later version of the horshoe cat,the cage style came first in Parkersburg. I should get some better close up pics of them later today if the sun will co-operate.Thanks PlanB

The day wasn't a complete loss though,I found these .Europeon wirepull and a Sparkler? Master? size is 21/32"

Thanks plan b and Steve.Wow what a day looked at alot of cats today but didn't find a single horshoe cat. Here are a couple of cats I think are fat bananas from Marlow Peterson and Larry Castles' cat-eye book pg.26"Another strange core was the fat banana. These marbles didnt seem to be made by Peltier. The core filled the marble and was a hybrid of two colors." Most of the fat bananas had a flat bubble in the middle. Both the hybrid colors and the bubble seemed to be deliberate. These two have hybrid color and aventurine.

Looking forward to it Gary,Bigjohn those are some crazy cats!!! WOW!! Size range?
-
Hi Gary, can you put some pics of those horseshoes on.Any cat-eyes in colored glass are more disirable. If you are looking at your cats get "marbles the guide to cats-eye marbles"Marlow Peterson and Larry Castle,it's a small but informative book.Gary it is always good to check out your marbles, you will find something good everytime. I don't know how many companies have made horshoe cats,I believe these are made by Vitro

Hey everyone,I've been meaning to get these pics up for awhile now.I believe this is a Pelt Oxblood banana with green aventurine chunks. It's hard to get a good pic of the aventurine. This looks like oxblood to me,anybody seen these? Size is 1"
-
do they look like the first or second type? Might be more types, anyone have any horseshoe cats?

Do you still have the bag, where was it made, very few of the Anacortes bags/marbles were made. They moved from Parkersburg in 1987
-
The header reads made in USA Parkersburg West Virginia.Did Vitro make two types of horseshoe cat's?I have some that look like cage style marbles but from the side veiw the veins look like a u.I gotta go to work now but I will try to get some pics up tonite, unless somoene else has some they would like to share.I have recently aquired a group of unusual Cats'eye and would like to discuss them, many have aventurine.Great day All.Bo
