Okiemarble

Captured it in a cow pen today............ any insight? It's a 5/8ths mostly clear with one end green, some bubles, has white whisps on the top layer. ( the darker spots just need to be cleaned off ) When you shine the light through it , it will shine through green or clear depending on the turn of the marble.. Thanks for your help

Our type of hunting is like anyother hunt. We go out into the middle of where slowly get out of the truck and sneak around on the ground down wind....until we see it.... the only color visable on the ground..... MARBLE!!! we yell. lol We have found 6 marbles in the last month at old homestead sites out in the middle of no where oklahoma!!! gotta love the hunt!

I really enjoyed reading this ( the ending was the best! In our house the horse poop usually means someone forgot to wipe their feet!) I tell my teenager all the time that these marbles ( new and old) will be her estate someday and that wealth is in the eye of the marble holder! Jabo has some beatiful marbles and some day they will all be antiques!! ( if they don't explode in the basement first!) I recently advertised that I was wanting to by marbles and got a reply from some people who lived in a very small shack on the edge of town. They had about 30 marbles all new. I gave them $20 bucks for them knowing they probably needed the money, but I like the marbles regardless. They have a story to them, and someday will be a new story for someone else.

Thats really funny!!!!!!! If you look through what he has already sod you can clearly tell that he doesn't get very much for his "named " marbles ( from mexico!)

Rookie----- Recieved these marbles today ( the black and white ones that were the basis of this thread)........ LOVE THEM!! Perfect description. They actually look like they have eyelashes with mascara on them!! All of the marbles were great! Thanks for packaging them so well. It's nice not getting broken or scratched marbles! Thanks again. I just got the best laugh of the day! lol When looking at marbles on ebay, I like to look at the ones with bids that I think might be you guys ( the knowledgeable ones lol ) And oh yeah, normally I can never afford them when you guys find them...... lol I searched half of OK today and found ................ zero........... I'll search Kansas tomarrow lol..

With prices the way they were in the '30's I wonder how many sets were actually baught. There can't be very many complete sets out there. I would imagine that the sets that were baught went to kids, and we know how kids are with toys. It would be neat to know how many are left.

Her listing just seemed really strange to me. Like alan said, I don't pay for stories either. I just want the facts. I don't know marbles as much as I like but I can tell when someone is feeding a line. lol

So I'm sitting here whatching the movie " The Goonies" with the kids, and I'm reading this very thread when low and behold in the very beggining of the movie the young actor Sam Austin is playing with marbles and a small marble pouch. Just thought that was neat....... ( I better see the movie again so I can find out what kind of bag lol. )

Can someone give me the deffinition of ingot / double ingot?

Just got a big box of marbles today package in a ziplock bag ( with lots of space left) in a box with a few newspapers. Some broken, lots chipped, scratched, and dented. Only good thing to come of it was........... I got a very good close up of what marbles look like in the middle!
