  1. David ~~ it almost looks like a double ingot that someone intentionally tried to massage into a marble at the original time of manufacture. Or are the pics just misleading and it really is a massive single? John
  2. Mike ~~ does it have finger holes in it? (j/k) What Alan said.
  3. "Scott and I are both artist's[,] the very best of the best." "what is this? true confessions?" No, more like "Wild Kingdom's, The Kings of the Plains"; brought to you by PETA.
  4. "not as cool as this one though http://www.ebay.com/...=item2ebd966ad1" which Ric already posted ~ Post #2
  5. You guys are good, because those are $hitty pics to begin with. And that always makes me suspicious even if I can't id the marble. And nice job, David.
  6. duh... but you could have if you wanted to.
  7. Duffy, you know everything! LOL!
  8. Very cool, Elizabeth! Your pic?
  9. And, not to be overlooked, the "Rare Photos of John Elway" in the lower right hand corner — holding a bat! Who knew?
  10. Winnie ~~ those are absolutely awesome!!
  11. Okay, that's photoshopped... you can't fool me.
  12. Is she selling it? OMG is she ever... http://tinyurl.com/8axhty9
  13. Just a guess, but the figure may be an allusion to Venus' Swan-drawn chariot. "Venus, in her swan-drawn chariot, had not yet reached Cyprus, when she heard coming up through midair the groans of her beloved, and turned her white-winged coursers back to earth." Thomas Bulfinch, Age of Fable: Vols. I & II: Stories of Gods and Heroes. 1913
  14. And Mike, just wanted to thank you for the all-caps 24 pt. font posts. It is much easier on these old rheumy eyes. L.O.L.
  15. RB ~~ the better question is, 'whose are they'? Edna will know. John
  16. Sissy ~~ "Now it gets complicated." That should have been your first sentence!! How in the heck do you know all that — you must be a relative! LOL! It is John Hamon Miller that I am thinking of (son of Sonny Miller). Unusual that he (they) would have given his (their) son his wife's maiden name -- hence my confusion. Anyhow, somewhere I have a bunch of JHM's marbles. I don't think I ever got any of Sonny's work. Do you know where he is in North Carolina? many thanks, John
  17. Sissy ~ help me out here. You mentioned Hamon — that's the father, yes? I think I have some of his son's work who is RLH, Jr? I can't remember...
  18. Rylee ~~ the one on the left I believe is Brian Graham.
  19. <snip> I think it's odd that people feel bad for the "new collector" when the majority of this board's members think Galen has a jabo, in hand and thinks it could be a cac. <snip> Let's see, number of board members is approximately 103 pages of 20 per page, roughly 2000, so a majority is more than 50%... so more than 1000 people have stated that Galen's marble in question is a Jabo. And the number of posts to that thread is 11 (not counting Galen's remarks) only one of which definitely states that it is Jabo, so... you are off by about a gazillion percent. But close.
  20. Thanks, Steph. I didn't think it was in there but I thought it might help.
  21. Is that picture of that Alley Salesman's case around? Steph?
