  1. Thanks for all the help - I totally appreciate it. Remember all, I've only collected vintage marbles for about 4 years now and I depend on your expertise and assistance to keep me on the right path.
  2. I have that date in my notes - I just checked. What did Isrreal do between June 1,1930 and when Master Marble started making marbles?
  3. There is a gap between being let go from Akro and starting Master Marble with the 3 others that were also let go from Akro. I just PM'ed you my gap.
  4. When Clinton Isreal left Akro and before Master Marble was started, there is a period in his life when he was unemployed. I have done a bit of research that leads down two totally different paths. Path 1 - Isreal had no regular employment during that period of time and just worked on setting up the Master Marble Company using the money he earned at Akro. Path 2 - Isreal hung out at the Alox Marble Manufacturing Company, with no pay, and used their marble making machines to experiment on a design he made when with Arko. My research has this conflict so I am asking the group to help me straighten out the contradiction. All the other three areas of his life I have documented with reliable information. When I get it all ready, I am going to post the results of my research about this interesting person. Thanks for your help in advance. Rich ps. Does anyone have contact information for the Isreal family? I'd like to speak/email them but I can't seem to find any current information. Thanks again.

  8. Thanks - the osprey was a 3 day venture in Maine on Sand Beach, Rock Point. The schooner was one of the tall ships that was in a "social" race where one of the ships my wife was on got hit TWICE by 2 other schooners while rounding the buoy 1/2 way into the race. I didn't catch the name I am afraid.

  18. I know, I know!!!!! I just bought one very similar to yours. You take one marble and spin it way out on the interior edge (like they do when the roulette ball goes round and round on the outside part of the wheel before dropping into a slot). If you are lucky, the marble will get caught in a numbered hole and you get that amount of points. You "spin" an other marble with your hand and try to get more points. Keep going until all marblrs are spun. The next player takes their turn. The player with the most points wins!
  19. In Maine today and will be there at the show!! Rich
