  1. I can't figure this one out. There is a JABO vibe, but a trusted source says this came from a collection that is pre-1985, thus no JABO. Also, what looks like a butt crack fold is really an "S" fold, as I tried to show in the last pic. The orange glass is an "S", not a "U"- and the fold line is continuous around the marble and almost does a complete 360. (You can see both ends in the last pic.) It's nearly a peewee at 17/32 (.53) inches with no UV.
  2. Thanks for the feedback folks! I didn't realize it was a tougher ID. In hand, the color reads orange and it looks like a slag to me, but I am not the best at telling where a slag ends and a WVS starts. Also, the UV is really weird- when the white is on the surface, no UV. In the area with the deepest and clearest base glass, no UV. When the white is just subsurface to the base glass- it clearly glows orange. I've never seen that before. Thanks again. And if others have any thoughts- please share!
  3. Thanks Cheese! Those alleys look to have a smidge of almost greenish color in the white/light tan glass and some of the dark brown looks almost black. Mine have a nice consistent cream color and the brown stay brown even when it gets darker. I know pictures don't always accurately capture colors, so they may look very similar in hand. Out of a collection of 65lbs of marbles, these were the only 2 labeled- as Ravenswood. This was done 40 years ago by a collector I don't know, but they had a lot of nice marbles. I just noticed the marble on the left in the last picture shows a little clip of color on an otherwise rather plain side- a Heaton trait I believe? But as usual, I'm sure it can appear in any swirl maker. Was Ravenswood your thoughts too, Chad?
  4. Bumping this back to the top- can anyone confirm the ID for me? Thanks!
  5. Thanks for the link, Chad- those do look just like mine. I saw some other images on the web that did too. I had it with my Masters as sunburst adjacent, but it didn't seem right- it looked too different.
  6. The photos don't do this one justice. The filaments are clean and crisp and go all the way into the center of the marble. It's a really beauty in hand. Measures 37/64 (.58) inches with no UV.
  7. Heatons can have a tongue. From what I've learned (from cheese) the tongue trait is more prominent with Ravenswood than other makers, but it can exist with any swirl maker. I learned this when he ID a Heaton for me with a clear tongue.
  8. My only orange one. Is that a turkey head in pic 1? With a long tail. It's 41/64 (.64) inches with UV in the some of the white glass- especially when it is sub-surface.
  9. Anyone got some help on these? Thanks!
  10. Sold for $1400 this month. CHRISTENSEN AGATE COMPANY, Guinea. Amber. 21/32". Near Mint(+) (8.9) https://bid.marbleauctions.com/online-auctions/blocks-marble-auctions/christensen-agate-company-guinea-amber-21-32-near-mint-8-9-8331050 Pieces of Guinea's sell for more than $100. It's CRAZY!!! I guess I'll never own one. They are beautiful, but the amount people will pay for them is beyond me.
  11. You have been a big help, Cheese! Thanks to your posts and pics about the tongue trait on AMM, I now know what to look for. Plus all your other forum posts, your book... You continue to help me and many others- Thanks!
  12. It's 9/16 (.56) inch with no UV. The first picture looks like an eel eyeing a fish. Or maybe I've been staring at marbles to long...
  13. They sure look like the same family to me. Both are 5/8 (.63) inches with no UV.
  14. Definitely not as nice as that one! Would it be considered a coral then? Or just an Alley swirl?
  15. The first Coral is 9/16 (.56) inch, the second is a smidge larger. What I think is a Bacon is 19/32 (.60) inch. No UV.
  16. It's 2/3 (.66) inches with a thin ribbon of UV in the dark brown/red band.
  17. OMG- every time I think I got one down, I don't! ID'ing is a tough biz. Glad to have a Heaton though! Am I correct on recognizing a tongue in pic one still? (I've been studying your pics from AAM, Cheese. Thanks for all your help!)
  18. With the tongue in pic 1? It's 39/64 (.61) inch with no UV.
  19. Sweet one! Purple was my mom's favorite color too. I always think of her when I look at my purple slags. This is my favorite one. I've always assumed it was Akro.
  20. It was with marbles that supposedly hadn't seen the light of day for 40 years, so I don't think JABO. But you never can tell what worms their way into collections! Thanks to all as always though. I continue to welcome everyone's insight and help!
  21. Wow- I never would have pegged that marble for a CAC! 3 out of 4, so still with a slight question mark, but I'll put it with my other CAC for now. Thanks to all!
  22. Ok, it's not a marble, but it is big- just over 6 inches. Megladon tooth.
  23. Here's the biggest one I have. 2 1/8 inch Three Layer Divided Core.
  24. It's 41/64 (.64) inch with UV in the yellow. Not the most exciting pattern, but the color stands out in a group!
  25. It's 41/64 (.64) inch with strong UV in the Orange.
