  1. Ah, no children here. Just three childish labradors. Or, as some folks say, "labradorks." My biggest passion these days is gardening and all things gardening (even with half the year too flippin cold or snowed over) so I am intriqued about using copper wire to make sun catchers and the like. Funny about the earings, marbles are really too heavy for earings. LOL.
  2. Indeed. I am out of boxes for the moment, but am separating until my local store gets more in stock. Also planning to experiment with using copper wire to make "sun catchers" from marbles from the damaged bag or any others that have virtually no value. And, yes, all these marbles came from my GRANDFATHER. West Virginia. And many were likely part of my father's childhood. Wish I knew more. They came to me in a metal box that used to be some game or something. So no wonder the condition of many is not perfect. I am surprised a lot of them are actually in good to very good condition given that.
  3. I got my ID book. Now to annoy you with my guessing. Would these be considered onionskin Lutz?
  4. Keep in mind, once winter sets in for good, you may find some Taters out there for sale. 😊
  5. I have a bazillion clears (with bubbles). Since they came from my grandfather, they have to be older than mid-50s. Any idea who made these? I find them on ebay but no manufacturers
  6. No worries guys. Once I get my ID book you will get SICK of me guessing
  7. Hahahaha. This was taken with my cell.
  8. Leaving you with these tonight. They remind me of the wind we are having.
  9. I remember this name from posts years ago because our dog is named Tater and the three of our dogs together we call Team Tater. LOL. And there is not a single "lady" among them... even the female!
  10. Since my dad grew up in West Virginia, glass was always a thing when we visited. I used to have more Fenton (no relation), Viking and others. But we downsized and I hate dust.
  11. The red and orange one are in great shape. The others came from my "damaged goods" pile. I SWEAR I have an emerald green somewhere. I spent the morning organizing my computer for naming. AND I bought the Block identification guide so I can start this journey in ernest, with ya'alls help.
  12. Not super large. I assume the benningtons are 3rd down and yes, they are small.
  13. Chad mentioned in another of my posts that marbles can be polished. I have, basically, a gallon sized ziplock with my "lessers" and damaged marbles. Which is not to say many in my other collection show damage - they are not all pristine. I guess that is the point of well-played marbles. So.... if polishing is a solution, how do you do that? And I ASSUME that, should the polished ones "go to market" that you can clearly identify that and do people still want them?
  14. Well... I am an old woman. Our winters are cold so I can't garden. Maybe researching these will challenge me. Honestly, I wouldn't mind liquidating ONLY because I know so many of you get such joy out of this. My grandparents left many things... buttons (political, etc.), baseball cards, and other cigarette cards. So I have my hands full. Unfortunately, if I liquidated all of it I would probably just drink up the profit in fine Oregon Pinot. LOL...
  15. And another piece of a large one from my damaged pile.
  16. HERE is one I just found in my "damaged" bag. Similar but different and not as interesting.
  17. Thanks. Wait till you see my (Alley) Lady Taters (I actually wrote that down from way back).
