There are 3 “ strands” that glow in this spot and there a couple other spots where 3 strands will glow as well.

Could the second piece be some kind of slag cullet ?

It's round and rolls like a cue ball. It's not flat where the pin hole is.
-
This is 3 1/2 inches and is hollow. Just that one little pin hole in the bottom so it wouldn’t blown up in the kiln.

This one is completely transparent.

I think I hit the jackpot. All of these glow! The white ribbons pop UV yellow and the red ribbons glow but only one side of the ribbons. Whatta do you guys think ?

Has anyone found this trait in the yellow or orange Sunsets ?

Thanks Ron ! I get it now. I agree that the term cold rolled has been loosely used over the years. Kinda like Kleenex. You don’t use a Kleenex to blow your nose. It’s actually a tissue.

I have a new marble to look for now in my Sunset collection. This is cool ! Great information. Thanks you guys !

The Miller Swirl has always been a cool thread in my opinion. Maybe there’s more information about the base glass and color combo on these that someone knows about.

Absolutely 100% ! I have a few and they are definitely keepers in my collection.

It’s my understanding it has to do with how the ribbons are configured around the clear base glass. I bought it at a Phoenix show in 2004ish with few other hand mades from a Seller who only sold German hand mades. I didn’t really focus on handmade ID’s after that. All I know it’s a Submarine and I thought that was cool.

These Sparklers are an 1 and 1/4. I've always thought these were cool marbles.

Mine turned 9 yesterday. Of course she has an amazing marble collection that next to her rocks and fossil collection as well. I made sure these collections started as soon as swallowing a marble wasn’t a concern. I had to give her one because she was always Eye Ball’n mine. She will always get something made out of glass for her Birthday…..and she knows it. What about you guys ?

I have this European Sparklers that have the same kind of texture in it’s surface. I’m not sure “cold rolled” is the right term to describe the surface glass. Orange Peel ?

Ox Blood is usually more opaque. I think this one is a Jabo.

Thanks ! The one above it is a Submarine

I think I might be right on these. I hope ! The first one is 5/8ths with a little clear and amber/honey base glass. The second one is 9/16.
