  1. This one makes me think foreign...? Any thoughts? 0.634"
  2. .. or boulders. Or whatever the "proper" designation is for marbles of this size. Lol. 0.926"
  3. Not enough colors to be a sparkler, I think. IIRC sparklers usually have at least 4 or 5 different colors. Looks like it could be a Master sunburst..? Or foreign..?

    Vacor ?

I don't think it's a Vacor. It is nice though. Possibly Velliglas?
  5. It's crazy.. I see the possible fractures in the pictures. But they are completely non-existent in hand. I've been scrutinizing the crap outta this mib for the last twenty minutes and I can't find a fracture anywhere! What I think the pictures may be showing is there are several super fine, hair-like filaments of white running through the inside of the marble. I'm thinking the light from my phone's camera may have reflected off one of those filaments just right when I took those pics and ended up looking very much like small fractures. That's the only explanation I can come up with because I can assure you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, there are no fractures in this marble. One thing I DID discover while pouring over this mib, is that there is a patch of wispy, dark reddish brown glass on the bottom of the mib that I didn't notice before. Dunno if that changes anyone's opinions as to manufacturer or not, but I figured I'd mention it. I'll try to get a couple pics of what I'm talking about and post them here in a few.
  6. Damn.. Super nice mib! Finding it in a $12 jar of random marbles, and in such perfect condition is a big +100 to the coolness factor. I absolutely LOVE those sparklers! Sadly, I've yet to acquire one but it'll happen one day for sure. Congrats on the great score William! Thanks for sharing!
  7. Nice! Thank you so much Steph! That just made my day! 😁😁
  8. Yep. A couple hybrid cats (the ones with more than one color on each vane) and some caged cat's eyes as well (the vanes aren't connected in the center). Nice marbles..
  9. Sweet! Thanks for the link Steph. That makes me feel a lot more confident that mine is legit. Very cool. Especially considering I only paid $100 for the two cigar boxes of marbles and so far from what I can gather the value of the mibs far, far exceeds that number in value.. Monetarily speaking, of course. I'm in it for the love of marbles and collecting them. So as far as I'm concerned they're priceless.
  10. Found this hiding amongst a handful of clays, chinas and Benningtons that were in a couple mid-sized cigar boxes full of mibs I bought off an antique dealer friend of mine. Anyways, I was looking up info on china marbles and apparently this pattern, called the King's Rose, is pretty rare.. especially in this smaller (~5/8ths inch) size. There is surprisingly very little info out there, at least that I was able to find, on the web about this marble. I found a few links to auction pages where iterations of this mib have been auctioned off... The pics looked pretty well identical, as far as mibs can be "identical" that is. The closest match to mine was for another smaller sized one, about the same size as mine. The estimated going price said something like $200-300 or $300-500, I can't recall which it was right now. The site wanted me to become a member in order to see the actual final selling price unfortunately, so I'm stuck with a rather vague approximation of value. TL;DR is this: Anyone know anything about these china marbles..? Particularly this King's Rose one? Is there any way to tell for certain that it's authentic? I'm sure there have been unscrupulous people who have attempted to make counterfeits to try and sell off.. Any info is appreciated! Thanks for looking!
  11. Well I'll be damned.. Good eyes. I'm amazed that managed to evade my scrutiny. Heh. That's a perfect example of one of the many reasons I love this forum. 😁
  12. Where are you seeing fractures in the glass on the last one?
  13. I'm fairly positive the red/yellow one is, but the blue/yellow one I'm not too sure about. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for looking! 0.633"
