I'll spare you the pic of my "railroad track" left leg 😉
-
Wow, it's nice to be home! After they removed my neck surtures, I was on the road by noon. Besides Patty, the happiest one? Uno, when I got in the driveway! I could hear her barking all the way In the house! Now just follow up appointments and take it from there. One thing I do know from reading up on it and discussing it with the medical team, this procedure sure has changed things. Sense of smell is totally gone. Just memories when I look at various things. And my sense of taste. Alot of things have become bland or altered completely. Morning coffee isn't the same I'll tell you! All in all, small prices too pay for the gift of life. Another good thing, I didn't lose the weight I had put back on prior to surgery, but still need about 20 more pounds to get back to where I was. Stay active as possible, exercise and eat well and I'll get there. Heck, I'm tempted to go on a small road trip today treasure hunting! Just got the itch, it's been a while 😊

Confirmation in a couple areas...all the lymph nodes they pulled from my neck, there's 20 - 30 per side, the official test results came back today. Not a trace of cancer in them! And also today I graduated from both OT and PT, meaning that I am being officially discharged midday tommorow! The Dr. Is going to stop up to my room tommorow morning and remove the rest of my sutures from my neck, then next week they will pull the 72 staples from my left leg (that's where the tissue flap came from). But yes, a total negative cancer find from the extracted lymph nodes only makes it that much easier for chemotherapy. Maybe won't need as much. That would be great with me. Anyway, another good day!

I've got a big Vacor galaxy, so I'm on board the Orient Express 🚞

Nice displays on WVW, everyone!

No kidding, you have been raking in the mibs 😊

But....I am treading lightly. No pigging out yet. Have too ease back into it and have to remember that my belly still belongs to a Gtube for at least another 3 months minimum.

I am officially graduated too the next level! Not the best selection per say but considering I've had literally nothing by mouth for a week....a smorgasbord! Just placed my evening order!

More good news just a little while ago....I aced my swallow study! Out of 62 live images (of which I watched in motion) of me swallowing contrast (yuck), not a single little leak in the "flap" they put in last Tuesday. We have complete separation of the 2 "pipelines. Just what we wanted. Now awaiting diet changes. Hooray! Tomorrow they take me in too see up the stoma area a little bit and don't see any reason for me too stay here after tommorow! Fingers crossed but can anyone say HOME? Super excited!

Last pic,7 o'clock and 9 o'clock, I want to see those two.

Welcome aboard! Been here over a year and wouldn't want to be anywhere else 😊

A few pics that aren't "gruesome" 😬 My little fun corner that Patty keeps adding to....my current diet (at least I have 3 flavors), my view towards Minnesota across the Mississippi. 45 minutes through those hills is home!...then, a half way decent mug shot. Felt good to clean up some today!

Good morning....just wanted to update my second family here at MarbleConnection. Survived the surgery! They safely removed all the cancer. I actually just transferred from the critical care unit last night to a "regular" room. Progress! Looking at maybe getting my last 2 drains removed today and tommorow. Then possible swallow study Wednesday to get me back to eating by mouth again. They might go in again later in the week to do a quick "clean up " of my trach area. Hopefully going home in a week or two. What a ride. Thanks for your prayers and support.

Some of you are familiar with my past and what I've had too deal with over the last maybe decade or so, not a stranger to Mr. C. If anything, facing this nasty disease with my loved ones in recent years has only made me harder. And frankly, I'm tired of being on the short end of the stick. I'm going to win in the name of the ones I lost. 👍

Many thanks for your thoughts my Peltish friend 😁👍

Logging on here became a part of my life, love this hobby! MarbleConnection does wonders for a person, that's why I'm gonna miss not posting any pics for a while after Tuesday! If we were to measure our voices with anything glass, I'd say it's pretty darn loud in here! 😊
