Yep, someone will buy it for the reasons I just told Art....😊

You should check out the jars I just dug up last week in Northern Iowa...(Lounge, Iowa Dig thread)
-
Kinda stands out, doesn't he? Like I told Chad, what's in there too warrant paying $200? The answer would be, a load of fun and childhood memories for someone who wouldn't think twice about buying it.

I'd rather have that sharp stick in the eye than come up light on my Franklin's....makes me wonder though, what's in there that would warrant this vendor too slap a tag like that on this jar?
-
That could be...having 3 colors kinda took me away from that thought though. As I stated, it's really tough to see the true colors through 2 separate layers of glass (the display and the jar), and the dim lighting didn't help.

Out treasure hunting and saw this lone marble in a jar full of various kinds of stuff. Wondering about the ID. Green and yellow separated by that orangey-peach ribbon. Akro? Maybe an old Vitro...like I said, just a curiosity, and that's alot of money for a random jar with random stuff! Sorry, best shots I could get...

Marble Vacation In West Virginia
William replied to sissydear's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
What fun thread...thanks for "reposting", PM 👍 -

Considering the amount of trees and branches that lay throughout this wooded area, indeed! Seems like every other step is taken stepping over branches and fallen trees... There's a few spots where we have too pass going from one area too another where there is dead wood looking for an "excuse" too fall 😬 It's pretty eerie hearing all those trees and limbs creaking and rubbing when a little breeze blows through!

The "Score!" thread. Post your exciting finds here...

Looks like a nice little mix 😊 -
Definitely not treasure hunting out in those old woods today...the winds are crazy today! The occasional creaking and popping from this old house of mine is telling me these are some pretty good gusts. Last thing I'm going to be doing is running for my life from falling branches and old trees!

Looking like an unseasonably warm weekend coming up, talking 70's which is unreal for Minnesota mid-to-late October. Only upper 30's, maybe 40 for a high today. 50's forecasted for midweek....
-
Just watched some news and the next couple days has us in the 40's for daytime highs and 20's at night. Then Wednesday through Friday pushing towards and into 70's for daytime highs! Crazy fall indeed!

Definitely been a blast with so much more to be discovered!

We found the block alongside one of the smallet collapsed buildings. It would be the little building in the first group of photos that I posted on this thread, the last 3 pictures of a structure. You can see the soil line on the side of it, showing how deep it had sunken into the ground. Every cavity in the block was full soil and weeds. What's interesting is that, as we have examined each structure, I am certain that they were constructed over a period of time and not at the same time. But judging from the stages of decay at each site, and what has been found, everything definitely dates pre-1950 IMO. The structural remains that we discovered yesterday, that you speak of Chad, I think it might have been storage building or possibly a barn. I'll get better pictures next time, but it's old enough too where whatever wood was used in the walls and roof is long gone and beneath the soil. The one door that somehow remains upright could be latched from the outside.

Like the drizzle 👍

That marble is awesome Gladys 👍

Our targets today...what used to be a small shed behind the house, plus returned to the only building still standing too dig where we found more tools and the 75mm....the spoils from today...a nice assortment. Really love the variety that were finding! The block was the only one like that we've seen. Thinking someone dumped it back there. She's going to make a planter out of it. A good day!

Another few hours of digging this afternoon...also discovered the remains of another building! We did a quick walkthrough too see what we could see. Definitely a future dig!

All Jabo's (I think)

One more mention regarding yummy treats...she also on occasion made some pretty good homemade salt-rising bread too! Loved it 👍

A Bell System Lineman's first aid kit...now I have too narrow down the time frame 👍

No wonder I couldn't find a match when I briefly searched. Not a coffee jar...still cool like you said Art! Wish the lid was in better shape. I looked up those old IGA logos...pretty nice history! One things for sure, it's not coming off the jar. No way without causing further damage. Together forever!
