Have fun Melissa, I will not be there; I just got my latest Covid shot today and will be down and out tomorrowđ¤˘. Just bad planning--once again.. Bill Bass is top notch as are all of the Badgers there. It is not a really big show but they all have really big hearts filled with a huge marble passion. MarbleâOn!!

Nope--they still may be what you think that they may be. Marble--On!!

Old to Collecting, New to Glass
akroorka replied to Ktdiditdidnti's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
First of all--welcome Ktdiditdidnti--I had to copy and paste this name--good job! Yes--putting this one next to a "Dime" makes it look "Smaller"--it its more than likely 5/8"--or quite a common size. The last marble that you posted is more than likely a Vitro--"Tri-light". Nice marble--nice images as well Once again-Welcome and keep them coming. Marble--On!!- 9 replies

Well I am not sure with either maker--size always matters when regarding Ravenswood marbles. They (Ravenswood) made more 9/16" marbles than any other maker--by design in fact. They do resemble some of the later Champion âNew Old Fashionedâ marbles that I have seen that were not old â---well they are old nowâjust young to me. Lets call in @cheese and @Ric for an opinion. I love a good trade--anytime Melissa. Marble--On!!

Rare? I doubt it-- European--I agree @Mojo has seen more of these that I haveâlets knock on his door. Still a nice looker, the colors are just great along with the crisp whispy white that we all love. âMint Marblesâ are a collectors dreamâyou have to start somewhere and this âsomewhereâ looks very nice. It is an Akro Mojo---size always matters. It does resemble a "Cornelian Oxblood" but I am with Chad here--the ox is thin if at all. Nice "glow"--- Marble--On!! Marble--On!!

Nice images! #2 one looks like a slag but it is notâA patch type for sure imhoâMaster imho. # 4 has the classic Akro cut marks---so Akro imho, the lighting troughs this one off a bit. You have the rest right oneâGood job! MarbleâOn!!

Early Vacor Cat's Eyes???
akroorka replied to YasudaCollector's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
This one is an Akro-- Marble--On!! -
Here are my ideasâ The left one is a slagânot from the USA imhoâthe colors are weird. The second one is a Veiligglas marble. The third oneâwell who knows!! MarbleâOn!!

Just for reference--post an "inky" Fire. These are close to being "muddy's"--that being said--if they are "little muddy's"--yes they do come bigger. I have seen the blue "muddy's at 1". Marble--On!!

One more for the road. A black slag--really a purple slag but this one eats up light like it is black. Probably an Akro--yeh I know, it has a little tail but "machinemades" show up with little tails toođ. Marble--On!!

A killer Jabo "Contract" run marble--the run eludes me. Maybe @Nantucketdink will chime in here. Marble--On!!

Size always matters--lol--with marbles and an ID. Veiligglas marbles come in a variety of sizes that I will defer to @Mojo for. Marble--On!!

Not a Master William. Image one and image ten show blow out holes-- from production---not too common in a Master Made Marble--or a Master Glass Marble. Not really too common in a Vitro either for that matter--but more so imho. (Maybe its a Pelt)---not. Marble--On!!

This may be hard for anyone to believeâbutâChadâs marble and mine may be from the same production run, not the same run of colorsâjust the same run. The machines/ovens kept running until they broke down for whatever reason. Production was never stopped to change size or colors--- back then at leastâand more than likely now as well. âKeep them runningâ is in the mind of any production team. Color changes and variations are more common than anyone may think. The rollers kept rolling, the furnace gases kept cooking, the workers kept working and the colors were bound to change over timeâuntil something broke. This was a time for a size/color changeover, when it broke or wore outânot during production. It was not about âpretty marblesâ so much as it was about keeping costâs low. The lucky few of us that have nice âHybridâ Pelts or other makers may understand this a bit better. All companies did this and this is why all companies have some very weird and rare marbles. Some of the manufacturers had quality control that picked these crossovers out better than othersâsome just let them go. These posted are mostly Akro and they sure as heck could have come from the same âRunâ. I call them âUniquesâ but there is nothing unique about them. Just my thoughts--- MarbleâOn!!
