  1. This one is quite visual in reality but hard to capture on photo. It has sort of a milky โ€capโ€, while the other half is clear. Cool to break the sunlight with. It might be nothing but it would be interesting to hear what you think. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  2. I think this one is so beautiful in all its simplicity. I found it recently among several not so exciting marbles, second hand. Itโ€™s a four strand stripey but itโ€™s โ€archedโ€ in a special way, creating a clear cavity in the middle. ๐Ÿ˜
  3. Yeah! ๐Ÿ˜„ @Tommy This could be the sexiest thread in the entire forum.
  4. Strange! I can see it on my mobile device but not on my laptop. Anyway, hereโ€™s a picture. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  5. Hmmm... thatโ€™s a shame. I uploaded a video which seemed to work fine. Iโ€™ll get back with a photo as soon as possible.
  6. Found this one in the garden today. ๐Ÿ˜„ IMG_1977.MOV
  7. This is me. From April this year. I donโ€™t really know enough about marbles to say... But I like handmade when it comes to sloyd, guitars and cigars so I guess I like handmade marbles as well. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  8. So, what is happening with 1 and 2 that is not happening so much with 3 and 4? Is it just that the veins are thicker and thinner?
  9. Clear glass, single coloured stripeys. (Did I get that right?) ๐Ÿ˜Š
  10. Thank you for the info! I had a slight mental setback yesterday ๐Ÿ˜… when I came to think about the magnitude of marble collecting and that most of my marbles may be "nothing" and that some may be "something". Does it make sense? Still, I love my marbles as most of them have been in the family since my mother was a child. Mojomarblelicious is very helpful as he is sending me pictures of what to look for. Lately he has been aiming me towards clear glass marbles with single coloured fat veins. ๐Ÿ˜Š By the way, what do you call the type of marble that you'll see in the top right of the picture I posted? What I think is the general word for them here in Sweden would translate to "porcelain marbles", even though porcelain is not the material. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  11. Thick, fat veins. Got it! Thank you. I probably have some of those. Are these, in terms of collecting, more significant compared to others that have thinner veins? Or is it "just" a good place to start?
  12. Hi everyone! OK! So hereโ€™s my very first ID post. Four random marbles from my collection, just to start somewhere. What may they be? ๐Ÿ˜Š
  13. If this thread is in the wrong forum, please let me know. ๐Ÿค—
  14. Hi! I wasn't sure if I should post this thread in the ID forum so I thought it would be more suitable here. If itโ€™s in the wrong forum, please let me know. I am currently sorting out my marbles (mostly transparent glass) according to colour and/or stripes. Right now two of he groups are much bigger than the others. The thing is that even if the marbles in each group look the same, there may be tiny differences. Not in colour or the number of stripes, but more in the size of the stripes or how they run through the marble. This is giving me a lot of confusion because I don't know how to group them properly for the ID photos. Any advice on how to break it down?
  15. Wow! Thanks for helping me along the way. ๐Ÿ˜Š I think I have some of the red four wing type.
  16. Thank you kindly, Tommy! Iโ€™m looking forward to it. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  17. Thank you, Mojo! I am so excited about the fact that my marbles may be IDโ€™d. When I was a kid, I had no idea that there was certain types that all had the same appearence. I thought they became what they became by random pieces of glass being put together. ๐Ÿ˜Š Now Iโ€™m going down the rabbit hole. Currently sorting out my cats eyes. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  18. Thank you kindly, William! ๐Ÿ˜Š Iโ€™m looking forward to it all.
  19. Thank you Steph! I will definitely post in the ID section. Itโ€™s funny that you confirm that the big ones are mostly Asian. I read that if the glass is green-ish and/or have โ€wrinklesโ€, the marble is Asian made. Iโ€™m looking forward to my time in this forum. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  20. Hi! My name is Christian and Iโ€™m from south Sweden. I have collected marbles periodically since I was a kid and today I have some old and some new, some smaller and some bigger. I donโ€™t know anything about marbles as antiqueties so I thought that I would tag along with this forum and see if I can learn. ๐Ÿ˜Š Do you have any advice on where to begin? Here you can see some of my marbles. All the best to all of you!
