I am so sorry. We were listening to The Boys Are Back In Town but it was at high volume. We are in a construction zone, cars going left, right and all over the place. My friend who was driving was going an unbelievable, frightening speed and didn't care, slamming on the brakes as needed. I was trying to distract myself by looking at marbles and couldn't remember Vitro from Akro. We made it through I asked him to drive slower, turn the music down and I took a little nap. So am home, safe, and corrected my momentary slip of mind! Yiikes!!

Typo!! Vitro All Reds!! Sorry..
-
Yeah, slips are certainly possible, but this might be....like I said! lol. There is rock music blaring on a hair-raising construction zone, high-speed drivr on the Interstate...I don't even know why I'm on this site!!

Going quickly over them I see Jabos for sure. An always-present [corrected] Vitro All Red. The light green spiral in the lower left hand corner of the last photo looks interesting I'm trying to remember what it reminds me of.

I'm going with a Master on the right. It was the first thing that popped into my head and then I started thinking. I was recently reminded to just go with my first thought, what I really know you should do. At least start with it but go with the first thing that pops into your head. I just got to stop thinking !!!! LOL. One of the things about these IDs is that you really get to see a range of marbles. At shows and ebay you see good examples of the stuff cuz they want to sell stuff. Here you get to see a wide variation of how the cut lines vary, the spirals change, etc, etc, etc and! They were made by a kind of complex process including cutting and rounding machines that have to be maintained and at a rate of 250 a minute, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! It's really fascinating but it does make IDing super tricky.

Second group of pictures really are telling as far as a double ignot. I suppose you could easily tell by rolling it around in your hand or better yet rolling it across a flat surface and see how wobbly it gets. hands on can tell you a lot about a marble, we know! I recently learned that sellers put WD-40 on a marble to hide all the flaws and scrapes but you can tell by squeezing the marble in your fingertips and it goes shooting out so, you know that it's slick! But I swear I see the crease as cheese mentions. I have crudely circled it here and you can see how it falls down the face of the marble in this shot

x4. Nice group!

I like the idea of a painter buying up fake paintings all the people couldn't get them. The only difficulty with buying up fakes on eBay is that it doesn't show that you know that they were fake. It shows that they sold for x amount of dollars, which actually helps to validate the claims that they were real. I guess the only opportunity is to put it in feedback but then people don't read so I'm not sure that would really help.😙

Agree with Chad, Vitro and Master.

I would tend to agree.

Just figured that out on my own! Cool mib! Mine is from my first marble show from Ron selling mibs for a friend.

i think tis is akro. how rare are really big moss agates? .97

I have heard the same directly from some folks who were involved! But the thought of 5 gal buckets filled with Moss Agate boulders...⚡ -
You are Peltmaster on AAM? Then, yes, it was AAM and hello! I certainly agree that they likely did not produce them because of the drab green. That drab green was exactly why I ignored it for, what, like 5 months I think! That the drab green would not have gone well on the marketplace, especially with from what I've heard all the kids wanted was red. But thank you!

Vacor Frosted Michelangelo first year?
chicagocyclist replied to NeozLilBallz's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Just for the record and clarity, it is spelled Michelangelo, without the "ea" (as in Michael). 😃 -
Akro patch. The yellow is the patch on black base, it appears in photo.

is there oxblood on this banded opaque?
chicagocyclist replied to Jeremysvt's topic in Marble I.D.'s
x3 no Oxblood. -
This has been thought of by me as a oddball cleary that I had in a bulk purchase I made a few months ago. Yesterday I picked it up and turned it over and went Oh, My gosh! An incredible patch of Oxblood and it's on translucent. I surmised it to be an Acro Oxblood on translucent! On another ID forum it was (edited) confirmed that it was experimental as other similar oxblood patchs were found in the French drain on site at the factory. Posted here for your enjoyment and information. Comments of course welcome!

I don't have a Blue Galaxy. I sure wish I did, whatever it is. I was still thinking no ox about the marble the OP and and jokingly suggested they send it to me! Hahaha! But yes, I'm sure you're 100% trustworthy and I will freely send one off to you should I ever need to!! along with my eye tooth! 🦷
