Okay so now it is December 2023 and I went to my local antique shop and the owner brings out a new bag and box of marbles for me to drool over. She has not seen this part of her collection for a while. I spot a glorious almost boulder size Akro Superman cork! I put it in my bowl and she comes over to see what I am selecting. Long story short it is priced at $120. She has graciously put it in a box (with my name on it), with about a hundred other beauties that I will buy a chunk of every month until the box is empty. She has been very kind and I want to build a good relationship with her. My question is--Is that an accurate price for this marble? I am very very tempted to buy it, but need calmer heads to guide mv decision making. Please advise... Pics pulled from google to show my dilemma

Also- I think that Black Cat's eyes are very good luck and worth collecting. Imagine a 'cloudier' or a 'glaring' of Black cat's eyes!! Evil will avoid you for sure! Hugs and best wishes--

I did look there; and the pictures are truly wonderful!... but they are pictures. Finding one in the wild- in hand is very different. My search continues...if only I had a map, and a ship to go to "Seastar Island...last reported sighting". We've all seen the movie 'Barbie'. Now that is the kind of pink I'm hunting for. Since there is more than one way to accomplish a quest, I am seriously considering taking cane work glass blowing classes early next year. If I keep at it, I will hopefully make one. If I do, I will gift you a 'Great pink Cat's eye. Think of it---light pink transparent glass, with a 4 vein bubblegum/magenta pink core, orbited by sprinklings of shining gold aventurine points of starry light suspended in the matrix...Boulder size of course. LOL!! At the present moment, any pink Cat's eye is a treasure worth hunting for and cherishing.

Wow! You have a bunch of Bananas (imho). Nice!

WoW! It looks like a marigold flower under glass! Gorgeous!

I've been searching for the rare, great pink Cat's eye marble for a long time. Rumor has it that they were common in the golden era; but I have been looking and have only found one 'kinda pink-ish' specimen. A pastel purple one would be a unicorn! A bubblegum pink with flecks of shimmering gold AV would be the holy grail! If Vitro made them, great! Where are they?? your guess is as good as mine.

Wow! That is a unique Sulphide! SCORE! Congrats on acquiring!!

As I look at the seams, it looks like Vitro to me. Let's see what others have to say.

Great looking peewee! I'm very much a beginner as well. I just buy what I like ...and what I can afford. My trouble is that 'everything looks soooo pretty'! Probably my only saving grace is studying, dedicating a loose leaf binder to keep my notes and classifications (old school here), and keeping a lot of online folders with pics of what I see marble wise. I still need to get some good books too. Thanks for sharing this tiny treasure! If you find the other kittens please take pics of them to share. I would love to see them!

Those are really great! Your 'kittens' are the only others I have ever seen in this diminutive size! Very nice! The darker one-- please share any information. It looks intriguing!

Here are some Japanese Catโs eyes that need an ID
treetiger replied to akroorka's topic in Marble I.D.'s
How big do you think they are? They look small in the pics... -
Thank you Akroorka. I appreciate your words. I agree that they are not worth much but that is okay. I can't remember how or when they showed up in my collection. I love them just the same. The kitten's eye did have me wondering though. It's the only one I have ever seen that small. Vacor?--cool! Thanks again and best wishes
-
Here are all of my peewees for help with ID. The dark blue with pits and black streaks 13mm. The clearie is the smallest at 9 mm. 'Kitten's eye' is 13mm, and the could be (MK?) is also 13mm. The light Amber, and slightly darker amber and the 'crackle glass are all 14mm. You never know how valued these little guys are until you temporarily loose one from 'the litter of babies'! Thanks and best wishes--

Good Lord! YaY!! Thanks Akroorka! (Tiny click in my brain = smile)
-
Do either of them have that 'orange peel' surface? Isn't that O.P. a standard trait for Vacor? Very nice peewees!

I know that I might be slightly colorblind, but is that a very light purple/lavender opposing the yellow? If Vitro was making those colors then count me in! Great looking marble that you have there. ๐

Is that the famous 'V' seam of Master Marble in pic #1?
-
Sure looks like it from the pics I've seen
-
...Lol!...from a different Circus! So is this a real company advert marble or scam?
-
I almost forgot-- is this marble leaning toward kokomo or pelt?
-
Aha! I see what you mean! Yup- my marble doesn't come close to that type of red. It had not occurred to me that my marble came in a style with opaque glass instead of bubbles. I am also glad that you have this collection to compare it with. My marble isn't Oxblood, and has no lipstick powers. What would cause all of those bubbles? Would it be the types of chemicals versus temp, or some other variant in the process? I am asking since a friend of mine and I are seriously working toward taking classes in cane glass working so that I can make my own marbles and he can make beads and other stuff. I know certain styles of marbles are known for the galaxy of bubbles while others are void of them- like Vitro Helmets and Cat's eyes. Maybe someday, if I am lucky, I will make a marble with that red lipstick smack!! Thank you๐๐๐

I have a bunch like these. I bought them because I don't see them that often- if at all (Utah). They are in my MK hoard. 'Three color Beachball' MK patch'. I love them for their classic beauty and nostalgic charm.

Ric!! Thanks for adding the beautiful pics!! Those are quite the collection! Based on this, your "Library of marbles" must be a "readers' paradise"! The far right vertical row of the second picture seems to be where my marble equates. Isn't Kokomo known for their massive amount of bubbles in their marbles? Even though I have never seen one in person, is the red in my marble the same 'lipstick red' that Kokomo is famous for? To me it looks a little dull; that is why I thought that it was Oxblood. ...?

Thank you Linda Gail! Very kind of you!
