    MK??

Fire1981, I tried to PM you these pics but I’m not smart enough. So I sent them to everyone. Hope you enjoy them.
  2. While I was drinking my jar it got quite. They all knew I was gonna puke. When I came up for air the place erupted. I was just a lowly, mild mannered Wednesday night helper/ secuitry / keep the peace guy. After that I was "THE BOSS."
  3. I have been known to eat anything. Nothing rottin though. I have several stories but I'll just tell one tonight. Several years ago we had an awesome youth pastor. There was something super special about him that attacted kids like no other. He was truely a man of GOD and I miss him. Once he challenged the kids to a contest. If they could get the youth attendance to 250 he would eat or drink anything they could put in a quart jar. It had to be edible and not rotten. The kids went WILD and smoked the 250 attendance mark by 20 or 30. They started with vinagar, coffee grounds, sardines, butter milk, olive oil, mayo and a raw egg. to make it easy to get down they blended it and poured it into the quart jar. If your wondering, yes there was more than a quart. We put the rest in another quart jar and to fill it up we put cottage cheese and a can of oysters. The pastor drank every drop. He gaged and choked but he got her down. The kids wanted him to down the other one but he said he fulfilled his promise. Looking at me he said, "You know it's a sin to waste food" so I picked it up and in one chug I put it away. It really wasn't bad.

    MK??

This was on an auction site today. I got out bid. Is it a MK. I’m a sucker for those colors
  5. I’m going to measure it again. If I’m not mistaken it was .618 all the way around.
  6. One things for sure, I’m going to remember it as a Transitional Imperial Master. Sort of a Shogun Warrior. 🥷 Thanks all, I had a lot of fun with this one. If anything I learned how to take a little better picture with my phone. LOL
  7. Ok everyone, first of all, I’d like to say thank you for your help on this marble. I don’t want to beat a dead horse, but I did promise to try and get some better pictures and I think I may have. Steph I think the snow flakes are air bubbles close to the surface that have cracked but are still intact. They are close to other bubbles that you can somewhat see. I think it would take a microscope to see that. LOL That’s just my opinion. I hope you all have enjoyed this post and discussion as much as I have. I can’t wait to open this and every thread I’ve started or participated in to see what others have to say.
  8. By the way are we looking at a Cobalt Peltier ? Blue Panda ?
  9. Fire1981, I posted this one last year on November 28th. We were thinking on the lines of Cairo then Heaton. There is a Stephen Bahr and David Tamulevich video talking about Cairo marbles. Check it out. They had one on there called a “Lightning” , I’m not saying that’s what it is but do a search on that one and see what you think.
  10. This marble was in a bunch my son got me for Christmas. I really never looked at it too much. Usually I’ll grab one or two and research it till I either determine what it is or I’ll post it here for help. I usually start by putting a UV light on it, then I’ll backlight it. Wow when I backlit this one I found out why it was in this collection. I have a very strong rare earth magnet, and it won’t pick it up so it must be a fire brick from the marble processing tank. Is there anything else it could be. Check out the bubbles, especially the one in the middle. By the way it’s .816 - 13/16
  11. Ok, I think we may have solved this one. And once again I’m referring to Marble Alan’s page this time under Master Marble. Quote “ All marbles, produced by Master Marble and Master Glass, utilize the same type of machinery, which was similar to that used by Akro but which never involved the “freeze” improvement that eliminated cut off marks at polls by offsetting the rollers. Therefore all Master Marbles, even the Clearies and Opaque possesses tiny cut marks and feathering at the poles. These crimps will occur in conjunction with the seams, which usually form there at either pole. Generally, the U-shaped seams occur on older examples, Master Marble, while the V-shaped seams are associated with later ones Master Glass. An additional method, and perhaps more reliable one to differentiate between Master Marble and Master Glass marbles is that generally brighter colors or employed on the former, while the duller colors were used in the latter, this trait is on most American machine made marbles which switch to cheaper and therefore less vibrant colors during the 30s.” Shew, that’s a lot of writing. So I’ll have to look a little closer to see if it’s a “ V “ shape cut seam but its definitely duller colors. Master Glass Marble in my opinion. Any takers? Again thanks for putting up with my questions and guiding me in a very helpful direction.
  12. I agree with pinched cut marks. I think the snow flakes are hit marks to be honest. A good clear pic would sure help. There is nothing like seeing it in person.
  13. I’ll try to get a clearer image of the ends. I can see some kind of pontil scare / pinched cut line mark but I can’t get a clear shot. I’ll get back on this one.
  14. Way back in November 2023 on my 3rd post I put this marble on the I.D. section asking for help and several responses were given. There was really no identification but rather what it wasn’t. Fair enough, some are hard to I.D. Since then I’ve been able to take a little bit better photo and increased my search ability and knowledge. I have several I’m still investigating like this one and eventually I hope to nail them down. This evening I was trying out a new google photo search feature on my phone and came across, once again a post on the Marble Connection archive post talking about European Whispler marbles. Most of them seem to be clear base but I have seen some more on the lines of opaque. This mable looks to be opaque but I think it’s actually a clear base. You can see into the marble with a good back light but is not very evident from the picture. The first pic is one I found in the archive and the rest are mine. Does anyone have some good shots of some Whisplers. The pics are from both ends and the size is consistenty .618 just a little shy of 5/8. Thanks again for the help.
  15. Well I woke up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn’t hurt. And the marbles I had for breakfast wasn’t bad so I had one more for dessert. I’d call this one desert, wouldn’t you ? LOL
  16. Yes, Yes. Slags are fun and very cool. You are so right in saying, "then theres the ones we post here" LOL!! That is so true. It's really a great place to share a cool find with folks that appreciate it too.
  17. I need some schoolin on this one. Please correct me on this because I want to learn from this. I'm definitley starting to distinguish certian characteristics between certian marbles and hope to continue. I've come to learn how the Peltier slags have the fine lines that define them. The 9 and tail on an MF christensen is not too hard and a CAC slag will have 1 or 2 seams. Then there is always colors too. On the Marble Alan page I've read, quote " Perhaps the best way to identify an Akro Agate slag is not by any particular feature but rather lack of features." So no fine line feathering, no 9 and tail and no noticable seams. I see seam lines in photo #1 and #3 . Now it does go on to say early Akro Agate marbles were hand gathered so could this be an early Akro Agate Slag. I'm not trying to rock the boat, I'm just trying to row the same direction. Thanks all, I love this stuff.
  18. Ok, Got ya. Still gets ya going when you think that might be it.
